too many people hanging back possibly, or delaying too long causing the apprehension. Hopefully it will pick up again soon

We'll get 3000 but it depends how long it takes as to whether we get further pushes towards 3500 and the all important 4000.

I reckon there are shit loads of people hanging back, I think if the season tickets were definitely going to be £100 then the final figure would be nearer 5k

Why would people be waiting for the fixture list, surely we have to play all the teams in league 1 at home.

Reasons for not having sold 4000 yet.

Some people have to save up over a lot of weeks to find £100 especially if on the dole or living hand to mouth as it is.

Boro, Sunderland, (Intellegent) Newcastle fans, and those that work shifts planned ages in advance will be waiting for the fixtures before committing any money to pools.

There is over a month and another monthly pay day before the deadline.

This is the time of years people who blow £1000s a year on footy spend their money on holidays and keeping their lass in shoes.

People keep being negative on message boards and in public about us not reaching the target.

Those still to renew just aren't in a hurry.

We are still due one or two signings including a striker that will generate interest once Mick and Ken are back from their holidays.

someone put it on here the other day...

You give someone 2 months to do it and they wait till the last minute, it's just the way people are, some do things straight away, some wait.

Thing is, can our club shop cope with a mad rush towards the end?

What is the point of the origional post ? Why share those feelings ad promote doom and gloom at this stage ? None of us have crystal balls and there has been about three thousend threads about how many season tickets people expect Pools to sell.

The crap and negetivity that is posted on here is repeated out and about and it is putting a real dampner on what is a brilliant offer. People who are having a dig at those yet to buy or saying that they think we will struggle to make 4000 are not produtive especially at at this stage. All you are doing by being negative is spreading the feeling of negativity and making people question whether or not to buy a ticket now or wait and see how many are sold. So basically the behaviours of people holding out that you want to stop and that you disagree with - you are actualy causing. banghead

Yes the same one, played with him at seaton and Hpool, great bowler but a cauldron of seething anger.

He basically has a go at the people of hartlepool not getting down and buying 4000 tickets as soon as they went on sale, how IOR cant do any more and will probably pull the plug etc blah blah blah bollocks.

Dont know why the mackem mail bother too publish this tosh.

If we were going to get a season ticket for £100, why not just do that, they were going to have to do it regardless, if they achieved the target ... and make the offer last till july 15th.
It can't be a money thing because they were going to do it anyway... and I don't go for this 'testing the fans' cobblers either.

Thats a good point. The club cant have a budget in mind because they didnt know how the 4000 would be made up.

What if the club did sell 4000, and they were all under19 tickets?

and the problem with not honouring the £100 ticket is that a lot of people that have paid wont pay the £300 odd, but most of the kids WILL pay the extra £25.

the mrs even had the wisdom, somehow, to say that last night, just make it £100 no matter what.

The drawback to this season ticket offer is that people who would have pulled out the money were always going to hang back, it's human nature, if you're on a tight budget. It's being openly touted as a £100 season ticket, which should have had a 'subject to...' prefix on the end, because I can't just walk in the office and ask for one. What's needed is to win over the floating voters, they are the ones who make the difference, whether loyalists like it or not and where's the signings to raise the potential buyers interest and expectation....?
You have to offer the ticket as part of an overall strategy, a package to entice them back ... this offer is just adding to the confusion, when a one off experimental straight offer of a £100 season ticket from the start (which must have been budgeted for originally to make such an offer) could have kicked things straight into gear.

Why can't the club just do something right for a change! It's quite disgraceful the way they mess people about by confusing them over how much they might have to pay. banghead banghead banghead

When you were at school/uni and you had to hand an assignment in on say a Friday - hands up all those who handed it in early on the Monday or Tuesday.......I thought not. The scheme runs until July 15th.

I was always told the worst thing anyone can do is blow the trumpet, shout charge and and five minutes later realise no one is following... You have to consider both viewpoints. The optimist and the pessimist are of equal value ... the optimist invents the plane and the pessimist invents the parachute ...you appear to be mocking the 'parachute'.

Agreed, the scheme runs to 15th July, but I bought my tickets early so that we could demonstrate to the doubters that the target would be reached and therefore encourage them to get theirs as well. If we all held back until the last minute then those who may be less committed would be unlikely to buy at all.

However if it was £100 from the start then would the Pools ticket office been able to cope with the demand of loads of fans piling there at once..? If not - it would look very silly, unproffessional and people would get frustrated. The way things have been played out it should see loyal Pools' fan get ample opportunity to get a ticket in a reasoable time - ie; not queing for ages. Also the fans that really want to go should all have no problem getting one rather than there being a rat race... Remember Pools v Darlo in the play offs where the tickets were sold in 2 days. I'm obviously not saying this would happen with season tickets but certain areas of the ground could be sold out quickly and some loyal fans would grumble if they didn't get sat i their usual section etc;

If the 4000 target is reached - which I expect it to be eassilly by the 15th July then I think it would be more sensible for Pools to say make the season tickets £120 / £60 or something similar for a limited period (maybe up to Aug 1st or whatever) rather than bumpig the prices back up to £300. Like you say Snowy the club will of budgetted for cheap season ticket sales and by selling them at say £120 or £60 fans are still gettig a cracking deal but people are being rewarded for beating the deadline....

If Pools could sell out of season tickets which would be massively ambitious I am sure IOR would be over the moon as more emphasis could be put on selling in other areas.

Hope that makes sense..

I think there will be a surge for tickets BUT the people who have supported Pools through the unfashionable times when Chris Turner was pulling the strings have had plenty of time to get their tickets in their preferred area's rather than people who haven't been for 5 or 6 seasons being able to buy the best seats first because they have the disposable income.

I read that letter.

I assumed that it was the ramblings of one of the mythical monkeys that had been given a typewriter in the hope that it could recreate the works of Shakespeare.

Regardless of the retardation of the people who write this shite, who the fk at The Mail decides to publish it?

The Hartlepool Mail seems on the one hand (i.e. the sports department) to be trying its best to promote the Pools offer and have HUFC stuff on the back page of The Mail every night these last few weeks whilst on the other hand (the finger pointing at the spasticated editor or its sidekick) trying to promote negativity about everything through the letters page.

Why don't they just call it the Sunderland Echo Hartlepool edition, because it's getting more out of touch by the month.

GeoffN.....Mate is that really your point of view or are you on a wind up. This is a ground breaking initiative that no doubt is the envy of most supporters at other clubs who wish they only had to pay a tonne to see their teamm play for 23 games. The other option was of course for Pools to do nothing and like all other clubs charge us £300+ for the privaledge FFS.

The time for any inquest is if we don't hit the trigger point, not now. Remember we still have a large number of existing season ticket holders yet to renew which if the figures are correct takes us to less than 1000 more needed to get to the magic figure of 4K.

Transfers are seemingly days from being announced upon MW and KH arrival back from holidays and then the rush should start, assuming that they are marquee signings.

Please can people stop pissing their pants every day about this and enjoy your summer. It is getting a little tedious reading the Bunker of late and people who profess to love the club finding every posssibility to slag it off (the promo vid at the millhouse another).

We are Hartlepool United and I for one am glad we are and it wouldn't be the same if everything worked first time brilliantly, if that's what you want support Man Ure.

a one off experimental straight offer of a £100 season ticket from the start (which must have been budgeted for originally to make such an offer) could have kicked things straight into gear.

Trouble with this is that most people would then have waited until the last minute before paying for season-tickets, whereas at the minute the Club have thousands of pounds in their account, getting lots of interest.

They won't be earning a huge amount, the best short term business accounts are around 3% a year unless they are putting it away long term or have someone playing the stock market with it.

What they do have by getting money in early though is made sure there is a nice amount of cash in the accounts for any potential transfer push.

We will sell 4000 and I will refuse to believe any different until close of play on the 15th.

When you were at school/uni and you had to hand an assignment in on say a Friday - hands up all those who handed it in early on the Monday or Tuesday.......I thought not. The scheme runs until July 15th.

In my Uni experience, you didn't even start the assignment until the Friday.

Normally used to start at about 10 on the thursday night and do a semi all nighter - working through the night broken up stopping for a kip here and there - if the hand in time was 4 then my assignment was normally stamped no earlier than 3.53....

No they wouldn't, if that's the case, why aren't the people who've already paid up waiting till the last minute as well, which would make far more sense financially.
Bearing in mind, we are talking football finance, which doesnt lay well with the word 'sense'.
