The Poolie Bunker

Interesting could be a Gateshead twist again. https://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/sport/ ... it-5050464

The words’ Young defender’ give me hope.
How many promising young players have we signed and rued the day we did.

Agree it should give us a better chance of the 3 points. Only problem is it's still a farmers field more suited to Halifax V Tamworth.

Tshibola, yes on loan if you want to argue.

You can always hit a good un but the odds are against it…the failures are buried at midnight and forgotten..

ex west ham means ex west ham youth player like we have players from premier league clubs who are just the same. saw some highlights a week or so back of that pitch and looks a mix of soft and bone hard surface. manny d and mancini will be both on there arses as much as there feet i,d suspect.

If Halifax are not allowed to complete in the playoffs that would give us a second place to chase after Gateshead Regards Gateshead we play them at home so a really good chance of 6 home points from that game and Ebbsfleet.

thats news about halifax. why will they not be allowed to compete in the play offs. the bogs being sub standard.

In his post-match interview the Halifax manager looks ready to throw the towel in: https://fchalifaxtown.com/news/hartlepo ... terview-2/

Blames the defeat on their own pitch and the ref for being a Poolie! That's a new one

On another day the ref would've more than likely have given at least 1 penalty, 2 clear handballs but more ball to hand through ridiculous bounces on a pitch that shouldn't be used for pro football probably swung his decisions. I actually thought that the one with Parkes on the floor was a header, and the claims for tugs or fouls were definitely not pens imo.

Think it was a header, Reminds me of John Gill, Man Mountain.

on another day we could easily have gone in at half time 2 goals up with no complaints from anybody at there club so a penalty for them which would have been missable on that pitch would not have mattered. managers need to look at every minute of a game and not pick out bits of it to suit.

Click on the link on the first post Accy.

I watched them all back frame by frame and I don't think any are pens. The only one that could have been given was the one that hit our player on the hand but it was unavoidably and very close. The one the floor by " Our hero captain " pure bravery and came off his face n head. The one I had to watch over and over to decide was the crunching tackle in the box but definitely no penalty and a superb decision by the referee for once in a piss poor officials league. I also looked at their player who obviously wanted the referee to believe he got hurt but as soon as the game went one he jumped up and just got on with the game but it would have been given by others ..it was the correct decision.

just done it and unless its a mistake it says nothing about two rugby league teams sharing the ground only a rugby league and a union one. mind you that pitch has only ever been suitable for just 23 home games a season without rugby involvement, but without rugby i doubt it would have been re developed in the first place. a good rugby side in that town has always had more fans than the football ever got apart from the odd big cup games.

There it is Kev.

But if they finish 6/7th then games would all be away from the shay to Wembley.
Anyhow reckon they finish 8th.

Its not about the place of the games its only regarding the number of registered clubs at one ground. They have 3 the limit is 2 so apparently have broken the rule. But even if we finished 8th no guarantee they would allow 8th place entry more likely to give a buy like last season.

nobody seems to be interested in the main thing at halifax the fans themselves who never put there club in this position. really throughout football which single fan is bothered about how many teams are registered to play at the shay or anywhere else unless it affects there team.

The argument is though Accy if Halifax won the playoffs they would bring their piss poor standard of a farmers field into L2. Yes we already know its a horrible pitch but the rules are in place to prevent the fooball league pitch standards dropping. So the idea of a maximum of two clubs be it football rugby or whatever is to try to keep surfaces playable and not scruffy with lottery type games and results. The fact Halifax broke the rule and currently have 3 is a piss take. I am not saying they are cheating deliberately but they have had quite a few decent seasons on that shit hole of a pitch. I have to wonder what part the pitch has actually played in the success of this tiny football clubs for years now.

can go back to the pre war days via my old man where there pitch has always been bad and one of the worst in the league. could be the opposite as the players themselves there might have been more happy to play away from home like a mid 80, rochdale team were as the spotland pitch was similar. one thing is that a decision on there future should be made sooner rather than later and ideally this week.
