Elvis Costello and the Imposters have announced “The Revolver Tour” during the merry month of May.

For the first time in 25 years, Costello will let his set-list be chosen by ”The Spectacular Spinning Songbook”, a monumental game-show wheel that features 40 song-titles, including hits, rarities and very unexpected covers.

Audience members will be invited onstage where they may spin "The Wheel" and then be offered a chance to enter the "Hostage to Fortune Go-Go Cage", while their selection is performed.

Alternatively, they may choose to take a seat in the on-stage “Society Lounge”, where light refreshments will be served, during what promises to be a splendid and surprising evening.

The original Wheel was famously donated to the Hartlepool Museum Of Showbusiness Machinery but it has been meticulously reconstructed from the original blueprints.

"The Revolver Tour" includes stops at The Wiltern in Los Angeles May 11, and two nights at New York's Beacon Theatre May 22 & 23.

See below for a complete list of dates.

The Imposters are: Steve Nieve (keyboards); Pete Thomas (drums) and Davey Faragher (bass).

Coming to the UK, 25 years after I saw the original "Spinning Songwheel Tour" two nights running, Edinburgh and Newcastle!!

Tickets on sale on Friday, gig on May 19th at Newcastle.

I'm not joking, if you like music, just GO.

THE best gigs I've ever seen, endof.

Tickets go on sale on wednesday at 9.30 am so don't wait till friday or you might miss out. Newcastle is the 18th May, a friday and I will be getting a couple for the wifes birthday. She will be delighted i'm sure but if she isn't at least i get to see Elvis Costello and take a mate instead.

I'll have fingers crossed for Ship Building and Pump It Up

Ah!! Thought it said Friday, will be on there 9am tomorrow then.

The Edinburgh gig of the Spinning Songwheel Tour in 86 saw Mr & Mrs ElvisC in Row A, Seats 26 and 27, Ie right in front of Elvis! Looking to be sharp off the mark tomorrow to grab a similar view, as the "Contestants" are picked out of the audience and invited to spin the wheel.

I'd like "Peace, Love and Understanding" or "I Hope You're Happy Now", please!!!

Poolie Tim, although it say Wednesday for tickets on the Ticket Factory website, every other source says Friday! I just rang the NCH Box Office and they say Friday too.

Thanks mate saves me having a frustrating morning. That'll be me primed for action on friday morning then.

Not expecting the tickets to sell out in 14 mins like last friday when I got my Stone Roses tickets.

Got some good stuff lined up for 2012 already, Big Country in Feb at Newcastle, hopefully Mr Costello and The Roses in June. Keeping fingers crossed for Depeche Mode doing a greatest hits thing next year. Haven't seen them yet and like them a lot.

Isn't Stuart Adamson, the bagpipe sounding guitar genius and singer for Big Country, long dead?

Aye he is sadly no longer with us and Mike Peters is doing a great job as his stand in. Best mates apparently.

I was at the original spin the wheel tour.brilliant idea, brilliant night.was it really 86.
anyway for those wanting particular tracks he's got a set list from each night of the tour so far on his official website.looks like the wheel changes a bit each night though.
if you google the title of this topic theres a great quote from rolling stone that the museum is" possibly fictional"
