I think the last couple of results shows that for us to progress our squad needs to be strengthened considerably. I now will be told that it aint gunna happen because we have no money i suppose.

I have noticed that.

Ill go along with that Chip. Dont think we can expect anything more than consolidation this season. We are still in the strongest position we have ever been in as a club.

main aim this season was not to get relegated. we are well on the way to achieveing that. lots of dead wood will be sent packing in the summer giving us a chance to complement :

gk :flinders and hopefully kean on season long loan

defenders : horwood austin hartley

midfield : brown sweeney liddle monkhouse

we may get another season out of collins and murray, but essentially we need centre half, centre mid, and some proper strikers. with at least 7 or 8 off the wage bill theres scope to recruit the right people so we can kick on next season. unfortunately with shyte attendances and a squad of turners poor signings hands are tied at the moment.

that said i expect us to make a signing soon.

basically that's about the sum total of it. I'll be delighted if we hit the 55 point mark around March/early April time with no worries about the bottom 4 first and foremost
Anything else is a bonus

Have to say there some pretty "big" teams in League One like Southampton/Sheff W you have to compete with.

Your ideal season sounds a bit like our hopes but with the good runs there might be more expectations maybe?

Good luck anyway.

Is the guy who has been with you for 10 years going?

Thanks for the good wishes as for playing you again I wouldn't mind it if we did in the Championship.. As for "the guy who has been with you for 10 years going" I assume you must mean Sir Ritchie OBE.. The only place he'll be going is upstairs he's part of the coaching team as well!

He's part of the fixtures and fittings at pools too.

Before we signed him we were just called Artlepool United.

The H was added after we signed him.

So he literally is Hartlepool United, like literally.

Its a good job he's not called Ritchie Foster.

because then we'd be called (adolescent chortle) .....Fartlepool.

sorry, i'll leave now.
