Allen:
Dons manager Martin Allen spoke to the press after the game against Hartlepool and gave his immediate response to a narrow 1-0 defeat.
"Hartlepool played with commitment, with desire, with fight and they have some players with some quality. It is very tight now at the top of the table but there is a long way to go.
"I have to have that tenacity and commitment on a consistent basis and that has been the case. It has always been about the tenacity, the energy, the commitment and the willingness and if those things are in place long-term we will get enough points. But if you show weakness in those areas you are going to have a problem.
"Although to the two results prior to today were not ideal I was more than happy with our commitment, our energy levels and what we were actually doing. Today, those things were well down on our normal levels.
"The players, more than anybody because they are a very conscientious group, will be upset and disappointed with themselves and on Monday we will have to face the facts."
Great days!
