The Stranglers were abolute class last night, what a gig!... yours truly and a couple of mates, lads who I've been pals with long before even The Stranglers were formed were right down the front giving it rock all, pogo-ing the lot and far from acting our age!! Jean-Jaques Burnell looked as cool as fcuk and made his bass talk, he even looked cool when he donned a huge bra that was hoyed on stage! Jet Black should be called Snow White as his swept back silver locks cut a distinguished figure with his distinctive roll of pigskins, Dave on his massive swirling organ was unbelievable and the new guy Baz Warne from Sunderland was exceptional, better than the last tosser who replaced Hugh Cornwell. The crowd were also in great form as one time punk hairstyles had been swapped for follickly challenged middle-aged punk rockers. First song up was 5 minutes, then continued with pure nostalgia, Walk on By, London Lady, Threatened, Nice 'n Sleazy, even the handfull of new material from the new album sounded good although I couldn't agree with the song titled "I Hate You" presumably aimed at Hugh Cornwell, judging by the way JJB introduced it. Neverthless, the show rocked on with Golden Brown, Peaches and many more..two encores later that included Hanging Around and finally No More Heroes, left Durham Student's Union rockin'

I can hardly talk today what with cheering 90 minutes on Saturday and singing word for word themeninblacks playlist .. age must be creeping up on me! Must recover for Midge Ure this Friday.
