Firstly the Falklands banner. You can’t have any team going onto the pitch post match with a political banner. If that’s okay then everyone will do it all the time. Argentina think they’re above the law but they’re not. Punishment? For me a big fine (a proper meaningful amount) and the three players most involved banned for at least three matches.
The Whitehouse have said it’s “free speech” but they talk bollocks. What would happen if Canada had lifted up a banner stating “Trump - stick your tariffs somewhere dark”
Secondly the post final aggro. I’ve seen this analysed on two separate news sites. Argentina players instigate the violence all the way through. At each point they are the ones who keep things going and make thing worse. Punishment? Another big fine, bans, and charging the Argie F.A. for not keeping their players under control.
Let’s see if FIFA take the action here, or sweep it under the carpet later, when we’ve all moved on.
