Decided to watch it and thoroughly enjoyed it…..the French in the first half acted like reluctant school boys and came alive in the second half, but it was a belting finish and the chance to see some real talent for the future.

Certainly agree Snowy, what a difference to the attitude of the players as well. Very surprising was the wat they tore into the French team who could not live with them in the first half. If they had played like that against Argentina they would of been in today's final.
A certain amount was playing Rice and Saka how Arsenal do. Also it was in the second half and his goal that Bellingham was finally recognised as one of the top stars of the game. Also Spence has blossomed as a gifted international when used the right way.

Nothing to play for and it showed in the French performance 1st half. Not to take too much away from England who played with a freedom we don't often see (possibly since the introduction of mandatory coaching qualifications for top level coaches and managers).
An enjoyable watch but I'm sure we'll be back to business as usual and boring football next match.

if that had been the final or even a group game i thin everyone knows the game would not have been played that way. it might have done once as a win is a win and people were entertained by it. feel the preference now is for a 1 nil over anything else plus winning the percentage of possession.

It was an enjoyable watch but imagine the fury if France (as looked likely) had pulled it back to 4/4 then beaten us in a cramp inducing extra time.

The armchair fans who pollute MSM websites would have melted the internet bringing world wide chaos.

Seems like evidence Tuchell got the tactics wrong v the Argies but apparently he won't accept that.

am i showing my age now, but wasn,t entertainment the main reason sport became a spectator industry. really its not life or death but just one of lifes little dissapointments when your team loses.

As you get older the dissapointing so close to victory defeats become less painful.

I'm already over the Argies result but still a tad pissed of about Sheffield Wednesday beating us at the Cardiff stadium in a rigged officials decisions which ultimately cost us a season in the Championship.

But don't despair just maybe we get anutha crack at it again under Smithy.

It was a great watch. Played in very different circumstances to the semi-final, but when France decided to turn up and were pressing for an equaliser they took risks at the back, just like Argentina did. The difference was England had an out ball and caught them on the break - twice.

if we do smithy will really have to raise our profile and we avoid a so called big club if we need to do the job via the play offs. could easily see lightening strike twice in similar circumstaces.
