Is this Pools new theme tune or has who lets out news about the club taken a vow of silence. The season ticket sales started well and could do with being extended and with the boost of a couple of marque signings. So come on get your finger out.

the last few days have been a waste of time anyway as its been a wank holiday weekend where the world seems to stop turning. However we might get news of a signing before the weekend. Unless you were tapping up a player out of contract before the season ended it does now take longer getting deals done than it used to. silence is far better than everyone knowing pools are chasing player X only to find someone has beat us to the signing.

Would like to see a couple of signings come in this week. Plenty of other clubs in this league are signing players, even Harrogate! Agree it would be a big boost to season ticket sales and yes lets have the early bird deadline extended also. Thought there would be more news coming out of the club now Raj has gone but it's still very quiet.

Is it because most players are still under contract and Pools are waiting for players to become free agents, as usual recruiting from the bargain basement ?

remember also many of these players will be on holiday as well. the best ones will get clubs unless they or there agents get too greedy.

Don't think that's quite true yet going by NewsNow National League. It's mostly been people like Luke Charman taking up contract offers. See Tom Crawford has just signed a new 2 year deal at Altrincham.

Now that the Bank Holiday weekend is out of the way things will probably start to pick up this week. Whether they will at Pools remains to be seen. Doesn't look like the first 1,000 season tickets have been sold yet, so there's still plenty of hold outs like me

They announced 1000 sold a few weeks ago. When I was in getting mine last week the lass said they were doing well , and to be fair the shop looked pretty busy with them.

I was in the club shop today- to return a shirt that was too big- must have sold at least a dozen season tickets in the time I was in there. People buying multiples for family to sit together.

some might want there money back then.

There will be job lot of signings announced on Friday.

Let's hope so, the announcement of either a raft of quality signings and/or an early bird extension until mid-June will be required if ST sales are going to get anywhere near the 2k mark. Blind faith in the new regime, coupled with plaudits from outside parties plus the announcement of the retention of a couple of existing aquad members are all positive developments.

However, hundreds of fence-sitting fans are not going to be persuaded to sign up to Landon's dream without some tangible evidence of a squad being assembled that is actually capable of achieving that goal.

I never waited to see who we signed before I bought a season ticket…I sadly suffered from ‘blind faith’ and complications with ‘ chronic optimism’ despite the unlikely onset of succes.

seems odd to me that people will splash out hundreds of quid on an unknown because of a bit of yap, yet the same people will check new furniture for hours and a second hand car looking for as many faults as possible. at this moment there is not a single thing to say if pools are possibly going to have a good season or not. its in the minds of fans who are positive, negative or just realistic.

Hope in Football can become a bad drug.

EFL here we come

Hope needs a foundation to be valid….but hope is the basis of football fans….that’s the problem….

the silly thing is that 4 teams will get relegated but fans of these clubs will still fork out on season tickets and live in the hope of some miracle. we seem to desert other places of leisure more quickly than our football team for some reason. if governments could bottle it they might stay in power longer if it was put into the water.

As a die hard Poolie, I know I will be going to go to most home games next season regardless, so I bought my season ticket early to hopefully encourage the hierarchy to spend on some decent players.

I appreciate that is a two edged sword, as you could argue that the hierarchy therefore have no incentive to appease people like me!

To me, hope isn't the problem, it's what it's all about. I hope pools do well, as they're my team. That's the bottom line for me, whatever unfolds is largely out of our hands. Every season I start with hope, there's not much point in analysing it too much. I remember getting excited about Mick Dochertys team building in 1983, got a season ticket then even though logically we were always going to be shit.
I don't t see beyond pools being the team I support, so I'll go, and I don't see anything wrong with that. I see that as what it's about.
