Looks like Rochdale and York are the favourites for automatic promotion if you look at the points on the board but the seventh spot is still open and we’re third top in a mini league to get that spot for the playoffs.
There’s a no man’s lans between third and sixth who’ll be in the playoffs but don’t look like they’re gonna figure for the top spot and just marking time unless a miracle happens.
So shouldn’t we be putting our mindset into aiming for it in that sense as third top in mini league instead of plodding along…?

And, we're only a few points shy of that 7th place despite being the divisions 6th lowest goalscorers - goals win games, wins means more points. FFS try to score more goals, forget the rocket science that modern day tacticians arnd coaches are trying to make of the game and go back to the fundamentals.

know defending is part of the game but its not what brings the crowds in. about time the powers ditch goal difference to just use goals scored as the difference in league positions if teams are equal on points. 4 points for an away win by 2 goals or more could help as teams would be less happy just to sit back all game with extra points available for attacking football.

It's as if managers don't trust defenders to defend so pack the midfield with defensive players too. Play on the fro t foot and trust the defenders and keeper to do their jobs. The basics are very simple, score more than the opposition and you get 3 points versus 1 for the goalless draw.

but its still a mindset amongst managers not to lose games first and win them only if they can. we see it at the vic in most games where teams just defend and hope to hit us on the break. its our inability to break teams down with this one up front lark and their attitude that makes games forgettable by the time you reach morrisons car park. football gets dearer to attend but the enjoyment from it goes the opposite way no matter the result of the game.
