Mr Accrington, polite question as I believe you're an ex ref?
Was the ref correct in making McNulty leave the pitch when the physio hadn't been on and he hadn't stopped the game for an injury?
If he was then surely he was wrong in not doing the same when their fella went down screaming and holding his head late in the second half with the ref again giving nothing?
I thought that you had to have treatment to be forced off for the mandatory 30 seconds although the rules these days are so ridiculously complex these days?
I agree he was card happy but the penalty shout was spot on even though there's plenty don't give them. Our keepers yellow for kicking away a soft ball was ridiculous considering the amount of time their keeper got over taking set pieces from the first minute.

So he should react to the reason why there will be a major drop off in the Gateshead attendance.
Ie poor standard management n players but Yes I reckon a bit of patience between now n August will pay off for the shortish n longer term future.

For the present and the future we need to see improvement, stagnation on or off the pitch would make the takeover meaningless.
If the aim is promotion next season, the building blocks need to be in place sooner rather than giving Fev until the end of the season then starting all over again imo. And another 19 performances like yesterday and recently will see crowds drop off a cliff edge. Why would anyone pay money to be bored shitless watching that shite - and no Fev we didn't get anyone close to Reid after your belated and masterstroke substitutions!
I see Mike Williamson has just started work as a volunteer coach at South Shields, be worth sounding him out for a full time position at Pools, again imo. He knows what the division is all about and managed to get Gateshead playing good football and challenging at the top despite piss poor attendances and a lack of cash.

LS witnessed first hand yesterday what a buoyant Poolie crowd looks like and will have noted that it needs feeding, encouraging and entertaining and I'm assuming he will be drilling that into his staff.
There is no doubt we need to be patient but there is also no doubt that patience in the football world is notorious for running thin or even disappearing at a very alarming rate.
Positive steps need to be transparent, communication with the fans needs to be transparent and if it is the fans will respond.

he was correct with the mcnulty incident as he had stopped play and required him to leave the field of play as they call it. there does not need to be any physio involvement for them to do that. a case of not a single player or both benches being bothered though if he had let him stay on.

that after we see some positive signings coming into the club that we can all see with our eyes.

there will be a major drop off in the attendance on tuesday night anyway even if saturdays performance was the best seen at the vic for a decade. its always been down on a saturdays game for multiple reasons. not just at pools but everywhere else also.

I'd agree with almost all of the above. Fantastic atmosphere pre-kick off but what followed was very disappointing - not unexpected for the regular fans but for those who haven't visited the Vic for a while or maybe on their first visit it must have been brain numbingly boring.

Not helped by the pathetically pedantic referee who typified so many of his ilk that infest the NL. The majority of the yellow cards that he produced were totally unnecessary - and what the fcuk was he up to after he awarded the penalty? He must have spent at least two or three minutes lining up the players on the edge of the penalty area ensuring that none of players of either side had so much of a toenail inside the Alty box.

I think Nobby could sit in just behind the front two (?) - he won't have the pace of Walker or the commitment of Johnson but he won't have lost that first touch that most of the Pools squad have never even had.

Funny you mention that, I was in a well known welding boutique and a character was enquiring in a quiet voice if they stocked flesh coloured welding rods for personal use…although he also asked furtively about arse tape/double sided, for use with flame resistant industrial thongs.
