The Poolie Bunker

Just watched the game. Two very good teams and a very entertaining 98 minutes. It ended 2-1 to Rochdale which was a good result for us Poolies as we're not going to catch Rochdale (we're probably not going to catch Southend either but we can dream...).

Manni came on about half way through the second half and was tidy but didn't do much apart from one brilliant piece of holding play where he controlled the ball, took out a defender and threaded it through a very crowded box to a teammate for the winning goal. Classic Manni tbh.

My take away from the game is that Southend's movement and passing are great and they're defending like lions but they have no end product. Rochdale have some classy players in their squad and what they're doing is working. It's the same as we're trying to do though so lots of irritating passing back to the center backs from good attacking positions bollocks.

Southend now only have two games in hand but are two points ahead of us. It's difficult but not impossible.

I watched it and thought Southend definitely lacked a cutting edge. I thought Rodney had a really poor game for Rochdale, although overall they deserved the win. As mentioned above it keeps our slim play off dream alive, especially as we still have to play Southend at home and their next league game is away to in form Scunthorpe.

Forget the competition, just plough on…. and hope.

Any brightening of the light at the end of the tunnel will be addressed by NF drawing the curtains with his 4-5-1 tactics.
Another hard game coming up, Aldershot in a false position, we're playing 2 games in a week, we don't have the players to play with 2 up front, etc
Just go out to win as many games as possible and see where we are come the end of April FFS.

I watched it, a very entertaining game, thought Rochdale looked the stronger team and just about deserved the win. Rochdale have midfield players who drive through the midfield to support the strikers, their winning goal typified that, midfielder Gilmour diving in front of the defender on the line to score. Imagine, midfielders who actually get in the box to support the strikers, oh for some of them.

Don’t tease yourself, let’s hope there’s a new dawn coming.

for a neutral southend can look the most attractive side in this division. however that alone does not make them a promotion team.

Thought Rochdale were below par, Southend unconvincing.

I will be in Hartlepool the end of April beginning of May, the last game of the season is away at Boston, if Pools get into a play off spot there might be a home game to watch.

If we get in the playoffs, we will likely finish 7th, which means an away game at the team who finish 4th. If we win that then we have an away game at 2nd place to look forward to. Win that & the final is at Wembley, no home game for you to look forward to on your trip back home.

Got a good feeling Southend are Gunna implode and miss our Goalkeeper.

Them n Halifax still have to come to the Fortress Vic.

the surprise team above us is scunny. they played us at the right time and i have seen em on dazn a couple of times plus their highlights and just wonder how they are getting the results they get. how they beat the vegans last saturday is beyond me. will there slices of luck run out.
