The Poolie Bunker

I have to admit to being collared as a 13 year old for selling raffle tickets round the houses with no prizes.

Anyone trump that? Over to you Mutley!

We used to pinch the eggs and orange juice of steps while delivering newspapers and sell them to the shop near our school.

Chasing poolies back to the train station when i was about 15.

You obviously had a wild imagination back then also Sussex.

When I was 14 me and some friends stole some booze from the local estate shop (Cinzano Bianco and Skol ) then got drunk and had a fight by chucking the full cans of Skol at other, one of which (thrown by me) went through a bungalow front window, so we legged it down into the town centre.

As we were skulking around on our platform shoes thinking we'd got away with our escapade, 2 policeman came along and arrested all of us and took us down the cop shop for a thorough ticking off and a further letter home.

This was not Hartlepool but down south.

You must have been first back to the station then "Leggie"?..

Nar I was the one who twatted you and left you sparked out covered in claret.

Begging them to take you back to Hartlepool to enjoy electricity and running water.

What were the prizes that didn’t exist.

we never said. Possibly why we never sold many, just said we were raising funds for the school.

Think I was around 10 years old, went to Woolies with a mate who suggested we pinch some sweets, I pocketed some, i can’t remember what. Next day in assembly it was mentioned Woolies had told the school they had noticed kids shop lifting wearing the school uniform, it was the softly softly approach and that ended my shop lifting days.

Too many to remember but one of the weirdest ones was getting arrested for 'ratting'. About 8 of us caught by the Bobbies in a Scrapyard nicking Scrap. Made a pact to say we were Ratting. We all stuck to the story and no charges were made. The Bobby interviewing me even tried to trick me...he pretended to turn the tape off and said the interview was concluded and asked 'off the record' if we were stealing Scrap...no Officer...we were Ratting.

And there's always the Assault with a Beefburger one where even the Magistrate and other Members of the Courtroom were stifling their laughter.

Probably sniffed glue n drank Turps and pissed his pants on a regular basis.
Fucken Scruffy gypsy tramp.

Don't bite.

Nice one Leggie!

I always got my kicks from blowing up dogshit with 3d cannons or bangers.
I was never arrested.

Would you arrest someone covered in dogshit.

Me and my mate got lifted as students for blowing up a microwave at the halls of residence we used to live in during Freshers week, when we were in the 3rd year.

Was a prank that went wrong- he had the old bill arrest him on his doorstep. I was in Germany for a month as part of my course, so turned up at the nick when I got back.

Spent a night in the cells, interviewed WITH a brief (unlike my mate) told my brief what had happened, and was advised to make no comment, which I did for the tape! Got bailed whilst it was sent to the CPS.

Had to wait a month before turning up at the cop shop. They said 'Oh has nobody been in touch, the charges have been dropped' They just said that It should never have got that far and should have been dealt with internally by the Uni.

My mate paid for a new microwave (I was skint) as the Uni were threatening to kick us both out. Needless to say that we went and got absolutely bladdered afterwards and kept our noses clean after that!

I bet you didn’t put that on your application for your teachers role.

I was arrested and had to spend some time at Chikurubi Prison.
Was not a nice experience, especially as I was the only white!

Was that due to you rigging bets.

Weveallbeencaught, a very topical winner!

No, I did decide to omit that from my application for teacher training . Mind I was relieved to hear years later that Humberside Police weren't brilliant with there record keeping!

Ha ha

arrested once at mansfield for impersonating a police officer because i had just finished work and went direct to the game in my bus uniform. no hat on, nut my old man did not help by saying he could not IPO as he had a brain cell in his head.

Seems strange. Couldn’t the local police tell the difference between a bus uniform and a police uniform? Are there laws saying a bus uniform can not be worn in civvy street? Had you infiltrated the police canteen or control room?

its just the colour was the same from a distance and it was a different colour from their local national bus company one. plus i was in my 20,s and over 6ft tall with shorter hair than most at the time. all it needed was a quick question but the copper thought i was there just on the off chance of receiving lost property from a fan. as if i,d travel 50 miles with my old man on the off chance of doing that.

I was 14 and walking to a friends house one night in very thick fog when out popped a policeman all dressed up in a cape and full old fashioned winter gear looking like something out of Jack The Ripper’s East End London.

He thought I might have been out burgling and shone a torch on my shoes before saying to me “I haven’t seen you before, why’s that?”

I was only young and daft and couldn’t think of an answer - but remember thinking ‘what kind of daft half baked question is that’

come back now and you,d be confronted by some para milatary guy in riot gear and hi vissed up.

Never been arrested but did go into Winchester Prison (like a scene from Porridge!) with the then girlfriend, now the wife, to see her brother who had been "naughty!, whilst in the Navy.

Did he refuse his turn in the barrel?

Him and his mate stole a car then robbed a petrol station of money and fuel before getting caught.

The wife and I were heading to his court appearance at Winchester Crown Court but with traffic etc were running late and was told he had been remanded to Winchester Prison and that we could go there to see him.

By the way, this thread wasn't just a general interest topic, It's gathering information for a module on my law course with the Open University (LLB Hons). If anyone objects to their comments being used then please shout out.

Hers a thing Mr I.

When I was 17 I got involved in an incident that got me into a bit of trouble. A car crash in which I was lucky to get out of, drink driving and other similar charges. Because of this I spent the night in a jail cell and it was awful, and from that day on I vowed never ever to seriously break the law again.

And I haven’t.
