But you were quite frankly unlucky to lose.

I need some medication :uhoh:

We were very unlucky not to get something from the game. We murdered them in the last half hour, how we didn't score I'll never know.

Oh I don't know - wasn't there unfortunately but I listened to the bulk of the 2nd half on the radio we sounded very much in control, at one point we seemed to spend about 10 minutes camped in your penalty area. On another day................. banghead

We where the better team and created the better chances in the first as well. Brown blazed over after the dodgy keeper dropped a cross and Barkers header looked in all the way, Antwi had a decent effort and we had plenty of possession. The two goals where the only time Leeds came close to scoring!!! The difference was the finishing especially the second, which was sublime from Beckford.

For me we were much the better team for much of the first half and for the 10 seconds in the second half when beckford finished the game. We then conceded the midfield like a top Italian side looking only to score on the break which we should have done

frankly it couldnt have been more one sided. first half we hit the underside of the bar, monkhouse headed back across the goal, just past the post when it was easier to score, and antwi had a goal bound shot well saved by the keeper.

we must have had 7 or 8 attempts on goal in the first half and 20 odd in the second half.

leeds had a couple of set pieces.

it was so one sided it was like a home game. dennis wise and eddie gray said so on the radio.

at times in both halves we were stringing 10-15 passes together at a time. it was embarassing how much better we were.

you guys are deluded.

if you play like that again on boxing day when you dont have the match officials on your side we will get double figures.

It couldnt possibly due to the facts 90% of them are hoops of the highest order and the bast few weeks has just been a put on?? could it, just a thought like!
Once a dirty Leeds fan, always a dirty Leeds fan.....

You were doing so well until that bit.

Deal with it FFS. Powder puff strikers will undermine the classiest of build up play.

The Rivals.net report (Hartlepool version) includes this bit

Hartlepool were struggling to contain a rampant Leeds team who had been buoyed by the early goal, and as Pools pressed for the equaliser Leeds were looking very dangerous.

It also correctly points out that you played very well, which you did. But if you want to revise history and go to your grave believing it was 90 minutes of Hartlepool skill and dominance then you will simply die deluded.

Leeds may have been slightly on top in the first thirty minutes, Pools were dominant for the remainder of the match, the second half was nearly all one way.

Over the year’s I’ve attended a lot of away games following Pools and yesterday had to be one of the best all-round football displays I’ve witnessed from my team. In that time I’ve never seen us dominate a team away from home to the extent that we did yesterday, to say Leeds rode their luck is one of the greatest understatements ever.

Fair play to Leeds they won the game and their will to win is undoubted both on and off the pitch. They possess two very good forwards who will score a lot of goals this term ( their second yesterday was as good as they come) but yesterday, for the vast majority of the match, they were simply outclassed.

No arguments with that really.

Wise knows that we conceded midfield, but injuries and an international call up ensured we'd be stretched there.

We still have a painfully thin squad (no sympathy requested or expected). Hopefully if nothing else yesterday will have showed the money men/man that we need some loan signings.

You need to be tougher as a team. Wilson has created an attractive outfit, but you've got to have bloody mindedness to go with it.

Try not to get bitter chip - we are nice folk and we were at the game. We won for two resaons. Our strikers actually strike and this is the real biggie for me, our defenders actually defend. Your's looked like they were caught in the headlights each time we came forward. We were the best team for much of the first half and we could and should have scored again on the break in the second. Football is about 11 players not just midfield. Arguably you should have won based on possession and attempts on goal although some of your attempts on goal were going nowhere.

Fortune favoured LUFC yesterday but my god mate, misfortune has haunted us for decades. If we lose at your place I promise to lose with good grace although somehow I suspect I won't need to because as my old gran used to say 'a good bigun alas beats a good little un'. I have previously posted that this game was about power v brazilian footwork. Power (plus desire) won out.

Now why would that be worthy of this "were these clowns even at the game ? " (and worse). We have a reputation but I thought you were better than that.

Indeed katcha - you, like us, have had more than your share.

Don't know if you see a sunday mirror - try and read the match report. Makes me wonder if some of your "clowns were even at the game"

But you've gotta move on madjohn and the mirror is the next rung on the ladder. Player ratings a joke - our front two delivered and yet ratings show they were only the equal of your misfiring crackshots. Red boots 'ill alas get yer I tell ya!

No. I for one will keep my eye on pool and all our other promo rivals chief amongst being orient on whom we have gained precious few points. I am no billy big shot. A grand day out yesterday and my point in posting on here since the game is simply to ensure that both sides of the tale get an airing. Somewhere between the two opposing views will be the truth. sctatchinghead

But that Beckford goal

Someone needs to burst their bubble - let's hope it's yer goodselves. Bristol and Swansea next up so we still have much to do to excape the bottom 4. We could easily be 8 or 9 points adrift very quickly.

All the best and as I have said elsewhere I will restrict myself (all being well) to your music threads (until December) which are always worth a punt.

Back to me flat pack IKEA before mrs heat balls me out
