This is a letter about us in Leeds' Yorkshire Evening Post. rage

Quote:
John Riddle accuses Ken Bates and Leeds fans of arrogance and over ticket pricing for away fans…

He is the arrogant one! Does he think all this is new and that we have not been through every scenario with this club? When Leeds fans travel to away games the prices go through the roof- because it is Leeds United. Nobody cares about the pricing structure then.

He must be a Hartlepool fan as he seems to think they should be in the same visiting brackets as Forest. Southend fans totaled 638 supporters at Elland Road for our first home game and, to be quite honest we Leeds fans do not care a damn about away fans pricing concerns at Elland Road.

After every club voted against us in this league, regarding the 15 point deduction, does Mr Riddle really think Leeds fans are to agree with him.

Hartlepool only average 3,500 at home and they’ll be lucky to fill the away end (note: at the time of writing the writer obviously though we’d get 1,400 tickets). If the have such a huge away following, as he laughingly suggests, then charge them more.

Steve Waterhouse, Wakefield

And anyway, why isn't Steve Waterhouse supporting his own team?

every club, including HUFC, has a selection of fans who are gobshites without thinking through what they are saying. It's also a fact that these pig-ignorant people take the bias of their own football club to extremes. More than likely including the original Pools fan who wrote the letter, who I'm led to believe is also a halfwit. There are different levels of football fans, intellect-wise, who support any given club.
This board has been enhanced no end by the Walsall and Leeds fans, plus the odd visitor from other clubs over the past season or so. They think along the same lines - footy's a game to be enjoyed - win, lose or draw. We all go through the same emotions on a Saturday and want to see our team win, and it creates an opportunity to meet up with these people when we play their teams for a couple of drinks (not want to kill each other if Rivals is anything to go by).
To be honest it's hardly earth-shattering news that these letters are written to, then printed by papers (after all the press love stirring it up anyway), and it's even less surprising to see them on an internet message board.
I just let it go over my head, in the knowledge that these people are not worth wasting breath on by replying to them. It saves getting wound up three days before the match - let's save it for Dennis Wise, Ken Bates and the ref!!!!

Have to agree with Parmo, like the Walsall fans last year (who came & stayed) the Leeds fans for the most part have been a welcome addition to the board, canny bunch!!

Hope some of you stay after we beat you on Saturday  bbolt

can i please distance myself and the vast majority of leeds fans who will actually be at ER on saturday from the letter in the first post of this thread.

we dont hate all fans from other clubs and think they should only be a few hundred away fans at ER.

we'd prefer to see every team bring 5,000 fans with them.

that way when we have beaten you by the big margin it will of course be, there will be more of you to spread the gospel of LUFC!!!!

Have to be honest, back in the 70's as a bairn I supported LUFC, in their glory days (well I'm not from Hartlepool & no one in their right mind would support Middlesbrough - kind of an adopted Poolie if you like  ) I hope you do right well for the rest of the season - after Saturday & excluding Boxing Day

No matter whether you support Pools, Leeds or any one else. If you love football you would readily admit that the Leeds V Southampton match in the seventies on match of the day was the greatest team performance ever.

That was the day Leeds played keep ball for what seemed like 5 minutes. Bremner Giles and the rest were really taking the piss.

If you havent seen it, and I dont believe you if you havent, then you should.

You should have been there 2 weeks before when we did the same to the mancs - an even finer performance (because it was the mancs) for me but it never get's reported because, well you know why

Anyway for anyone who wants a glimpse of the finest english football side ever here it is:

My arse - we get charged the same as anybody else to my knowledge.

My arse. I'm norappeh that we're being forced into the 30 quid seats cos the south stand is closed to us. Not having a go at you guys for this but i'd like to see our fans looked after for a change.

Quote:
does Mr Riddle really think Leeds fans are to agree with him.

Who the fook is Mr Riddle? Is he a relative of P Riddy? If so he can go forth and multiply then die anyway.

Quote:
If the have such a huge away following, as he laughingly suggests, then charge them more.

My arse. That's the biggest pile of poo i've seen in a long time. This geezer thinks our large travelling support shouldn't be treated in that way but suggest we do it to others.

And finally

Steve Waterhouse, Wakefield

Far be it from me to grass on anybody but this person could well be one of us. Naming no usernames or owt but it's got Billy and God either side of is.

Go easy on him won't you now. :sweeeet:
