Another awesome gig by Mr. Cornwell with the rock-tastic Caroline 'Caz' Cambell on bass and Robert Williams giving it some stick on the pig skins! HCB opened with the classic Stranglers classic "Grip" then once again alternated with solo work and Stranglers pieces, that included No More Heroes, Bear Cage, Nice 'n' Sleazy, Nucelar Device and finished off with the awesome Down In The Sewer fading into Straighten Out! Hugh somehow manges to transform what used to be the magical keyboard work of Dave Greenfield into hard rock 'n' roll guitar masterpiece! AND Hugh word what can only be described as a cowboy style jacket in suede complete with fringe tassles, put it this way, ig Phil Dunn wore it fronting the Passion Killers, he'd be somewhat ridiculed but, somehow Hugh manged to look soooo cool in such attire!

Looks like it was a wonderful evening, good to hear that Hugh is still on top form, liked the photos Lord S. As Kev said a Fender Telecaster through a Vox AC30 - ah. I have to make do with a Marshall MG50 dfx.

I had a Marshall 5150, the old transistor split channel amp. Sadly it went to the great gig in the sky when the transistors got too dry......

150 watts - you noisy man. I used to have 2 Sound City 120watt valve amps going through 4 4x12 speaker cabs. Every speaker cab was a different make, I had Marshall, Sound City, Laney and Hi Watt. Did we make a racket. For an open air gig in Basingstoke I borrowed a further 2 100 watt stacks and had them at the back of the audience, trying to create a quadrophonic effect. The result was we were banned from Basingstoke forever.

Oh aye it had some throat.
