Was just going to mention the accounts Mr MHSeats. Said previous we’re in about £2.5mil of debt based on previous accounts plus both stuff HUST and Raj have said. Seems we had £2.4mil of loans as of June last year (and I’m sure it hasn’t got better since then.)
It is a massive worry because without someone coming in and offering Raj a shit ton of money, we have a big problem. I just can’t see anyone paying even a million for a NL club, which then still has another £1m or so in debt.
It makes the trust’s effort in February even more valiant as they must have seen where it’s all heading.
Keep your fingers crossed for Will Ferrell to turn up.

So it's about £1.3m to Raj Singhs companies, ~£110,000 to Sage and the rest to Sport England. I doubt anyone will pay anywhere near £1.3 million for Pools so at some point Raj will have to cut some of his losses if he ever wants to leave.

Spot on Krampesh. Raj might compromise I suppose but given his history with Darlo I’m not sure how likely that is.
You would hope the Sports England loan isn’t the thing that kills us - not a great look for the government to pull the plug on a football club.

The accounts are as close to fact as we will get, but unfortunately they are being misinterpreted on this thread.

As it stands we owe Raj £1.1M down from a high of £2.2M.

We owe Sage £110K down from £1.7M

Therefore in the past 4 years we have repaid (or renegotiated) £2.7M worth of debt.

That is a huge positive. We are not a debt saddled club. We are effectively paying off our mortgage.

We did pick up £1.2M from the Government to help survive Covid in the form of low interest loan. This is repayable over a term that could be up to 20 years, so another 17 years to go.

Previously we just kept this in the bank, but now we are down to £622K in the bank (as of end of 22/23 season). That's a little concerning but nothing to panic about.

The reason why our cash reduced is that we made a loss in the 22/23 season.

More information will be available when the accounts for Clarence 18 Ltd are published, which should be in the next few days. Those accounts include turnover for the football club, transfer fees both in and out and also wage bill.

You're close but not quite there on a few points. Raj Singh's companies (Clarence 18, P and R Construction, Prestige Care Group Holdings) are owed a total of £1,300,219 with the £1.1 million owed to Clarence 18 being the largest chunk. You're correct in that this is down from £2.2 million but this is likely to have been mostly repaid by the £800,000 Raj took out of the club in the last set of accounts.
The Sage debt was £1.7 million initially but was negotiated to only be upon sporting success, player sales etc. upon Raj taking control of the club, therefore the debt post takeover has never been £1.7 million, I believe from the first accounts post takeover it was estimated at £330,000. So we are down £220,000 from the initial amount owed.
So we have (for better or worse) repaid just over a million in debt in the last 2 years. We are still a 'debt saddled club' just most is owed to our owner and Sport England, which like you say is low interest and over a long period of time.

Someone who knows a lot more than this can obviously correct me but I believe when Sage/Blackledge wanted to pull the plug we owed them £1.7 million. Sage knew they weren't going to get this back in full, so the only options were: negotiate a takeover and accept a much lower amount paid to them over a long period of time or put the club into admin and get pennies to the pound back. They obviously negotiated with Raj and settled on an amount that they would be happy with, I don't know if we paid them any up front (Mr I?) but after Raj Singh took over this amount was estimated (in the 2019 accounts) to be £330,000. We've since had onfield success (promotion, player sales, cup runs) and have paid back some of this debt so the amount left in the current accounts is estimated to be £110,000.
Obviously without knowing all the details we'll never know when, why or how much we pay upon sporting success but the gist of it is Sage accepted way less money than they were owed because the other option was get even less back.
