Set up for a flying start

3 games against promoted teams (who are typically shite)
2 games against relegation strugglers last year
1 game against a team who have no players and almost bankrupt

No easy games blah blah....but this is a chance to make a strong start---September looks fairly decent too with only the end of it againts teams I would expect to challengs

All aboard HMS Piss The League with Captain Sarll !

I'd take 4 pts from first 3 games then steady away.
All down to a rapid Recruitment drive between now n August 10th.

Where is your ambition--mayeb Yeovil be half decent as some history here but in general the gap between national and below is big

November looks the hardest month--5 teams who legitimately be gong for playoffs or higher

Promoted teams tend to do quite well early on, so might not be as easy as it looks. Seem to remember oxford putting 5 past fairly early on in the season.

Yeovil are probably the biggest team to come up from the league below in some time - they rightly deserve to be here after bossing it last season. Id be very sceptical of this with it being an away fixture too. They have recruited well and kept some good lads on. Id say we will be looking to find our feet with this new team for the first couple of games so i wouldnt be surprised if we get beat and then draw at home to Southend. No reflection of the season of course as i really do believe we finish in the top 5. I may change my feelings towards the first months worth of fixtures if we sign another 3/4 very solid NL or above standard players. Plus a GK who could quite easily play at a higher level too.

But it does look like a good opportunity for us to start like last season and put some points on the board early doors !

most important thing is where we,ll finish and we all know a good starts means sod all in the end but points in the bag to keep relegation at bay.

Looks like we going into the season with the smallest squad in the division which include a few has beens.
Must be using a philosophy of high scoring narrow wins and a shit load of luck.
Ah well only Football.

a very important few weeks left yet - dont think we will have the smallest playing squad (yet).

yeh just employ the southgate technique and bore the oppo to death then snatch and grab a winner every game or penalties

actually i can see more of that especially with more and more away sides coming to the vic boring us to death and sneaking points their football did not deserve. its been getting this way for years but could be on steroids next season if england win the thing. do not think every fan is going to accept victory no matter what approach thrown at them week in week out for ever.

Already kicked in.
Will struggle to put 7 on the bench at Yeovil.

I think pools would look very bad and DS in his first game in charge if he couldnt even fill the new larger available subs bench.

Some unknown kids have been given squad numbers so that scenario won't come into play for the Mighty HUFC.

just wonder if he is a manager who likes to make subs anyway unless things are really going shit or players cannot continue due to injuries. they all seem to vary in this.
