and it will probably be his last chance to win England a trophy. I believe his drive influence and motivation along with a mega talented squad will propel England to victory. And don't forget we have more young players who are now winning trophies and know how to win. The likes of Bellingham & Foden are two of the very best in World football and they will use this stage to prove it and bring it home finally. I reckon Germany France final which we would be very close but maybe the Germans shade it after extra time. England crash out in the quarter finals and are "unlucky" as they always are.

Nothing glorious about losing either, doubtless the media will be bigging them up.

Although nominally the England football manager, Southgate is woke as all feck and so is the mainstream media. They go out of their way to be supportive because they all sing from the same song sheet. Notice after the Euro final debacle the mainstream focussed their energy on the the alleged social media abuse of the England players rather than the incompetance of Southgate both in his tactics and his choice of penalty takers. think its possible that southgate is far more popular with the media and modern fans that he would have been even at the turn of the century. he might not be the man of the traditional working class fan but the man the woke fans will fawn over.

England have had a ridiculously easy set of fixtures in last couple of tournaments and had a major chance if we had gone for it. We sat back and paid the price, once we come up agaonst a good team we will be out.

Yes, that is generally what happens. First top tier team England face in tournaments usually send England home. Night follows day. England have some world class players players but the tactics are conservative and inflexible and the England defence is not good enough.

England have some world class players when they play for their league team but as soon as they pull an England shirt on all their talent diminishes for some reason.

There was me thinking that England reaching a major tourament final for the first time in 54 years - and beating Germany and Croatia on the way - was a pretty good effort. Granted we had home advantage, but we had that in the 1996 Euros too and 'only' reached the semi finals. Lucky for Southgate that social media wasn't around in 1996, or he'd have been slaughtered then too.

I would say Southgate has had the most talented group for years, And managed to do nowt with them.

Finishing 2nd is failure with these players.

The last 'Golden Generation' of England players in the 2000s never got past the World Cup quarter-finals and didn't even qualify for the Euros in 2008. Southgate is streets ahead of the likes of Eriksson, McLaren and Capello - which isn't saying all that much because they really were duds

Check out the managerial stats for Capello and Eriksson and I'd doubt anyone would say Southgate is streets ahead. Capella was an incredibly successful manager winning titles and cups in numerous countries, Ericsson not so much but still has lots of trophies in his cabinet, Southgate is a loser so far but streets ahead in his political correctness only imo.
