It's a terrible situation I feel sorry for the supporters. Rochdale had a few problems a couple of months back but have now been taken over by a billionaire family.

Embargo on transfers again according to local paper. A consortium is financing the daily business but their ex chairman has not signed it yet hence the problems. For any details look at Southend Echo the local paper.Despite these problem of a 10 point deduction they very nearly reached the play offs.

My friend who's a Southend fan is worried that they'll follow the likes of Bury, Macclesfield, Darlo and Stockport. Plus the council might not issue a safety certificate for Roots Hall. Ron Martin is totally screwing the club over.. :angry-tappingfoot:

more and more money that comes into the game there does seem more of the chance of that happening. apart from macclesfield, southend and those others did not have the problems created by fans staying away, but problems created by owners. fans pay in hard earned cash without any way of deciding where it will end up and all they get for their troubles are transfer embargoes and points deductions. only way fans deserve what they get is if they stay away in much larger numbers than the ones who go.

Their manager, and rightly so is hot property for a number of league clubs. Id imagine if this goes on still there is no way he will be assed with it all again - credit to him and the players as they didnt let it phase them and tbh where one hell of a squad. They had no right to nearly reach a play off spot with -10. Id hate to think what Pools would have been like if that was us. No doubt playing Darlo next season id imagine

Now the Australian bloke who so far has spent 3.5 million on infasture and new pitches at training ground, is threatening to walk away. What a total mess that club is in.

yes and possibly the best thing that could happen to them is pack it in and form a pheonix club as there does seem interest in the area for the club. might take em a few seasons being in the wilderness but that must be better than season upon season of crap and broken promises they are now suffering.

Although i would not advocate starting over myself.
If they did, I think they would fly through the leagues.

think starting over depends on the amount of fans and interest locally a club has. bigger they are then the better the possibility is to come back. the main thing that they all need is the ability to keep their ground without moving out of town like darlo and bradford park avenue did.

Not surprising - Ron Martin has royally took the piss out of him basically saying 'Here you paying for everything as I'm too tight and by the way, I still own the club!'
