Even I was one of them.

Well Fergy n Fevs have signed up and Sarll is over the moon about that stating in his comments about how very good they were 3 years ago in the promotion season.
Die by the sword. Live by the sword.
New signings need to be a major improvement but the early signs looks like the usual.
Maybe KP could have the last laugh here.
But.......!

Be better for us if If KP never even got a hint of a chuckle.

Disappointed Fev was kept on but hopefully he'll not be a regular starter. Fergy is decent when we're on the front foot but struggles when there's not any support in front of him defensively.
If Dodds and Mancini come back as good as they were we've got the beginnings of a decent team and to be fair it's not even a massive improvement that's needed to make the play offs. How many stupid points did we give away from should have been winning positions last season, and we were what 9 or 10 points shy?

Dodds n Mancini fully fit would be like 2 new quality signings for this non league division.
Hopefully that goes to plan as having you better players being paid to recover ain't Gunna get promotion for sure.
We've been there before with previous players!

Should have a rough idea about November if we getting a full season out of them.

We will have our different views between now n game 1 in August.
But one thing that is guaranteed the lads will get vocal encouragement that the other 23 teams will get nowhere near.

Dodds returning as good as he left and Mancini doing the same will be vital for us next season.

however we have exercised the option on Mancini - but he could still not be here come first day back. The club have been very coy on those that have had their contracts extended. Alot doesnt happen in May i know but i still feel like we may not see Mancini in a Pools shirt again. Southend seemed to like him that much they may persuade him down south? highly unlikely i know but this is Pools.

what i,d like to know and why it was allowed to happen is why is he back in france for his re hab. is his heart still back in his home country and with all the time he will have spent there will he be homesick and be unable to be the same affective player like he was.

Think he was brought back months too early because Pools were desperate for a lift. If anything that probably set him back in his recovery. If he offered to go back to France and live at home to continue his rehab I imagine the club looked at the money they’d be saving and took his hand off.

For me it’s simple - Pools have take up the option and he’ll report back for pre-season like everyone else on the retained list.

I believe he had his hamstring surgery in France and his rehab was over there too, maybe and probably is the best place for him.

Not sure about bringing him back too early, Lacey was molly coddled for months after breaking a bootlace. Mancinis 2nd injury was his groin and not a recurrence of the hamstring.

Previous Hamstring injuries if not properly healed lead to a massively increased chance of groin injuries. Something to do with the tendons connecting the 2.

Mancini had sports insurance which covered him outside of the UK and back in France - he received his treatment and rehab back with French L1 side Lyon i was led to believe, so as you can imagine he had the very best of care. ( probably better than what the club and NHS would have offered thats for sure). He probably did come back to us too early but again it was a groin and not hammy, he may have other issues and is a bag of bits ? like we keep saying why is a player of his calibre turning out for us ?
He will be back over seeing Family whilst on the mend, best place for him although would be nice for the club to come out and make a statement on him ? KP mentioned he was ascertain he would be back for the first day of pre season but can we be sure of that as he didnt even know the bullet was coming at that point ?

Obviously by triggering the 1 year option on his contract the club are expecting him back, or a fee if he goes elsewhere. I wouldn't think anyone will be in for him though until he's proved his fitness again.

Tonight on you tube Phillips was on with Sam Alladice and asked about his time at Pools said a fortnight before end of season was verbally offered a 2 year deal by Raj that was retracted at the end of the season. Big Sam asked him if there had been a new Director of Football or changes to the board as in his opinion somebody had pyt the worg into Raj's ear.

There's a reason Accy let him go and there's a reason loads of other teams wudent commit to Luke Williams.
Fully fit Mancini doing the business from August to January will result in a sell off to an efl club.
Or hopefully not more injury problems.
Either way don't see us getting a full season out of him.
Mystic Kevs theory. But I welcome disagreements

I think it’s just as simple as saying his contract was up now, because any ‘whispering in the ear’ was done weeks, if not months earlier to bring our intended new manager.

Maybe Raj was playing KP.
Sneak us into the play offs and I will honour the 2 year contract offer.
Knowing full well a replacement was in the wings.
Either way looks like Sarll is expected to perform a minor miracle going by the first 2 signings.

Fat Sam was asking the right question. Things changed after the new Board was announced - and Walter Mitty Shithead has boasted about his role in the decision.

he was only on loan there playing 2 leagues higher than our level. he was a burnley player and i wonder just what his injury record was with them. askey must have been a bit unsure of him in the first place by having to see him in a friendly game before committing himself fully. if we did get a full season out of him i cannot see him or any player who will constantly play the same before his first injury happened. he,ll have his own lean spell like the rest.

I had a listen to it on the No Tippy Tappy Football channel. KP still hasn’t got a bad word to say about Raj except “he perhaps listens to too many people.”

Allardyce reckons that an agent (Sarll’s) got to somebody on the new board after it was announced. He’s been around the block long enough to have a pretty good idea how these things work.

For me that’s not really the point. Is Raj’s new ‘executive’ board with fans’ rep Walter Mitty Shithead going to improve the way the club is run or generate more controversy? Doubt we’ll have long to wait to find out.

Some schools in Yorkshire still insist that the white rose was triumphant in the wars of the roses.

Good point, or maybe there was enough Yorkshie blood spilt on it to turn it red and it was taken as a Lanc surrender.

Phillips on Undr the Cosh,
1 hour 36 minutes long, I watched it, bit boring tbh, they touched on his time at Pools no bitterness whatsoever said that’s football and wished Pools all the best for the upcoming season.

I wouldn't hold any bitterness if I was suitably compensated.

Phillips wasn’t sacked, Pools didn’t renew his contract, why would he receive compensation ?

Maybe he got hush money to keep him from telling us the real truth that Raj is a skinflint and wouldn't let him bring players in, or bring in an assistant, and that he'd been paid in dodgy Pizza Hut vouchers?

Just read he begged the officials not to add more time at the Gateshead game

Regardless of why I am glad he has gone, that game was pathetic and he did nothing but look on helplessly.

It's the first time since Challinor that Raj hasn't made a massive rick with a manager/coach appointment. KP did what he was paid to do- Keep Pools up. And no contract to pay off.

This is like discussing if we should have declared war on Germany when they invaded Poland…..history …… and nothings gonna change it now.

changing subjects slightly if germany had finally won the war history would have been written by them and they,d say they were only defending their eastern border from the poles and people would have believed that. plus the holocaust only happened because the groups who suffered were a 5th column movement in the country.

Of course…who holds the power writes the narrative.

I think it is fairly obvious that there was no contract to pay off.
Who the hell has said there was a contract to pay off.

with the lack of the pools app with Simson and Barron the one with Phillips was interesting with the bit about Pools only being a very short bit as was his time with the club.

Calm down old chap. The "no contract to pay off" was in comparison with Raj's other appointments since Challinor - Lee, Hartley, Curle and Askey all had contracts to pay up when they were sacked. Askey worked just 4 months of the 3 year deal he got last August.
