Has left Stockport after failing to agree a 2 year deal - Stockport offered him a 1 year contract.

Would he be worth a shout.

The Stockport fans aren't happy he's gone.

He’ll be looking for at least 5k a week , I am all for ambition but we need to be in the real world,
Will likely go to someone like Gillingham if he is happy to move south

He scored 22 goals last season and was the captain. He is 34 yrs old but would still score goals at this level. Buts it's a no from Len

I'd love to get croasdale in our midfield but I'm sure he'll stay in L2

Maybe Armstrong will be released to fund Madden’s signing - worth a shout?

The chances of us getting Armstrong are virtually nill. But he would be a terrific statement signing. We have plenty of goals in Mani and Joe but those three would scare the hell out of teams.

however they have a couple of decent young lads who they might loan out to us. they had one at gateshead a couple of seasons back who was their player of the year and became a first team regular last season. no chance in hell croasdale or madden will drop down to our level unless there is no interest from a league club thats hardly imaginable.

Id have a 34 year old Madden over half the rubbish available on free's just now. But his wage demands alone we could probably bring in 3 players of half decent quality and maybe another hidden gem in Mancini type of mould. Anyways Miles Hippolyte has also been released and he was by far one of the best players in this division when Stockport romped out of it. He knows Sarrl well and played under him at Yeovil, if there is any former Stockport player coming our way it would be him, but again hes proved he can operate at a higher level and no doubt will have other L2 clubs looking at him. There is some absolute quality being released from the league above. If we can just snip 2 players at least i think Sarrl could easily take us into the top 4.

things might have changed over the recent years but many players released will be trying their best via their agents to remain a league player unless clubs can bribe them to play for them or we and others in our league are their last resorts. we could sign madden and the rest if we met their financially demands but we just cannot and its not worth getting wound up by it.

If we signed everybody who we should sign on here, we’d have a squad the size of the Parachute Regiment.

funny how we never sign any of the names that get mentioned on here or in the press. if anyone knows of a good player available to us keep it quiet as there seems a better chance of seeing them in a pools shirt by doing that.

Hard to disagree.

you can add length of contract to that. give em too long like hastie and co you are stuck with them give em just a single season and they,ll be off somewhere else at the end for sod all. knowplayers need and want some sort of security but feel the more confident would accept a season to either prove themselves or move on to somewhere that could be better.

Funny isnt it someone mentions players on big wages, everyone says no chance. But then when we have these scottish players everyone claims they are on mega bucks and its held us back. I will hazard a guess madden wont be playing in a pools shirt anytime soon unless he is 45 years old had 3 seasons out injured and hasnt scored for 5 year.

Everybody doesn't say that though do they, I don't for one. I have no idea what Hastie was on as I have no idea what Madden would want.
Who we sign or don't sign is not up to me so I don't waste my time speculating on it.

I'm not against speculation as such, I'm merely pointing out that speculating on who we will sign or not sign in my opinion is pointless.

Whatever he was on its unlikely he'd upsticks and move from Glasgow to Hartlepool for peanuts imo. I'd imagine we had to pay a relocation package or for accommodation on top of his wages too.

One thing for certain is we're well rid.

Its the same with transfer fees and always has been in our times with Pools. Its all speculation as to what they pay or what they spend because they never actually announce such things.

big problem though if he had come off it would have been money well spent. he wasn,t signed to become a poor player by a manager who ended up being poor. just think if he had come off and we had only given him one season and had gone back to scotland for sod all. life is a gamble and no more so than signing any player.

Joining Chesterfield by the looks of things.

Also was hearing that Umerah was in fact our big earner at the club. Hastie and Cooke coming in close 2nd. Also think Lacey came in on good money too so thats 4 big earners out the door whom offered little bar Cooke for their pennies. We should see a decent return on that if indeed their share of the budget is back in the pot.

Even though he was only with us for 3 years he deserves the title of club legend. Gutted he won't be with us anymore but kind of expected given his age. Still fit as a fiddle though, hardly ever injured & never stops running or fighting for the cause, a great leader & an absolute model pro. Still got a couple of decent years left in him at league 2 or National league level in my opinion. Sad to see Croasdale & Hippo go too but again not surprised. Unfortunately can't see it happening with your current owner but if you managed to pick up even just one of those 3 they'd be great additions to your side. If Raj had anything about him he should be busting a gut to fund a decent side for you next season as the National league looks set to be the weakest it's been for some time. Your gates have held up remarkably well & you'll be one of the biggest sides in the division next season along with Oldham & Southend. Hoping your loyalty get's rewarded & it's a good one for you.

Has to be good. Don't know what Hastie does wrong really. He scored 2 goals for Hamilton the other day in one of his rare starts for them. Back on the bench for the play off the other night and didn't even get on the pitch. You would think they had a load of talent in their team.

Lacey was not bad just always injured and couldn't keep him on his wages.

i,d be shocked if their team mates knew what others were on. something thats always been a secret in the game and you only find out if they are being paid shit and are on less than they think you are on. even that only happens if you are big mates with them.

This website claims it gets it's info from 'Press releases, news & articles, online encyclopedias & databases, industry experts & insiders.' It could easily have picked up Hastie's wage from the same rumour mill some Poolie fans saw.

Only 2 salaries quoted for Pools - Hastie's £2,100 pw and Dan Dodds allegedly on £1,400 a week.

Hoping your loyalty get's rewarded & it's a good one for you.

it took years for your fans loyalty to be rewarded after being shafted year upon year. get the impression we are trying to follow your club back before you got gannon back and before the money came rolling in. will pools fans be as forgiving as stockport ones were by playing non league football 10 years after getting wins against manchester city.

We're more likely to be announcing Paddy McGinnis than Paddy Madden.

To be honest £2K has been the figure floating about.

Will say this once again raj couldnt believe players were on 1500 to 1700 when he took over so i highly doubt any pools player would be on them figures now for national league.
