Just wonder how many will be following me by not watching it and have zero interest in the game.

Its going to be a blood bath.
TBH i dont enjoy watching Man City they are just too efficient yet with Liverpool and Arsenal etc anything can happen and it's just more entertaining for the neutral.
4-0 with " You're getting sacked in the morning"

pre premier league it could have been a blood bath on and off the field with the vast majority of the teams fans being local and on the pitch there would also be more local lads involved or from the wider north west area. i would have found waiting for the game a long wait then. now it will be chess on the grass with hardly a really bad challenge on view, but goals you,d see at the vic being called goals of the century by the pundits.

Quite sad that the interest in this game has pretty much gone. No wonder crowds in the lower leagues are going through the roof, watching two clubs who can just buy anyone and in man citys case win everything is rather dull, bit like formula one, same result week in week out.

Would have watched if Coventry had made the final. Or any real underdog.

There was a time when I wouldn't have missed it for the World but now I can take it or leave it. I don't even know what the time and date is. As a youngster it was etched in my brain.

I will be watching and hope that city score a record cup final win and completely humiliate united by something like 8-0, Please Sky do not have Garry Nevile on whinging about it afterwards United are a lucky side after beating Coventry in the semi. COME ON CITY GIVE IT TO THEM>

It’ll be a blitzkrieg by City…..although they are playing Spawnchester United so anything can happen.

Yes, the same goes for me as well. With my 4 brothers we used to have the tv on as soon as possible (I think the prematch stuff used to start at around 11.30) and watch it through to conclusion.
Sadly, it is played down a lot these days and I think that is a deliberate ploy by the Premiership teams and tv stations.
Following the news on stopping replays I think the FA.are now on board with it as well.

I always remember years ago where the teams travelled by coach to Wembley from their hotels and they televised the journey.

yes and a celebriry fan from both clubs was always the regular thing. possibly a bigger game than any league game played and when attendances for the first round proper were not as low as they are now and that was before fans were bribed to attend by reduced admission costs. too much televised football now that many of it is not a good advert for the game and the final just aint a novelty anymore especially when it seems the same old teams are playing there and a couple just a few weeks after playing the semi there.

Definitely used to be one of the best days of the football season with Cup Final Road to Wembley, Cup final Its a knock-out etc.
Pretty much in front of the TV from about 1000 to 1700 with loads of people getting together to make the day of it.
Now just another PL, VAR ruined match with woke commentators and pundits. Total turn off for me.

just makes me wonder now if live tv football is for an audiance that do not watch live football regularly. its more likely to be seen as just entertainment value for the masses, especially for a foreign audiance who might get all excited about the worlds oldest competition and the magic of the cup. there will be more magic from a third rate magician at a kids party than at wembley on the day where you have seen all the tricks before.

They buggered it up to appease the armchair fans who’ve probably never smelt wet grass and mud in the goalmouth in January….it appears they are the ones who count now, but that’s what happens when you ditch all your traditions to milk the lard arse couch fans…it’s all about the money.

Remember the days when cup final tickets were like gold. Now you never hear of anyone getting one or trying too. I managed one and I was like a dog with two tails absolutely overjoyed now have no interest in going.

I hate it when the media zoom excitedly their camera to certain ‘celebs’ who turn up in the ‘boxes’ and have that dazed look of someone who hasn’t got a clue where they are……cue Rock Rugged in a box with ‘Give in ‘ Kim and ‘Surrender’ Brenda….

That’s why I would never watch it now, it’s developed into a circus.

I have happy memories of Cup Finals as a kid at my Grans, my Granda would invite his four mates round from Richardson Westgarths and they made an afternoon of it, no booze but good food….I was about seven sat watching it and my Nana told me to pass my bag of boiled sweets around and winding me up the they emptied the bag and I was mortified when I got it back empty and I said just two words…’Greedy Buggers’ and they all burst out laughing…grand people, their like have long gone but they stick in your memory.

My first memory of watching on tv, me and a mate went into Bruce Moores on York Rd and sat on the floor to watch Blackpool v Bolton. We didn’t get a telly for another two years.

totally agree and take their camaras with them as well. they ruin everything no more so than the eurovision song contest that i actually used to watch 50 years ago. now its seems a show for box tickers only infront and behind the camera.
