The only way that could happen is if they means tested it like benefits, it’s not a benefit in general people have contributed too, it’s 50% of the living wage. The best anyone can do is move their savings some where if over £6k and claim Pension Credit which entitles you other benefits.
Maybe if the triple lock was removed and tax threshold raised it wouldn’t cause an upcry taking pensioners out of paying tax ?

If you "get rid of" savings of £6k and above you do not automatically get Pension Credit, there are other things to take into account, like private pensions etc and when you take the wife's state pension into account you have no chance!

People on pensions are going on about having to pay tax, I’ve been paying tax on my pension from day one.[/quote]

I am referring to single people, if you have PP obviously you won’t get Pension Credit, not every one was in a financial position to contribute to a PP. People who have never done a days work in their life, no savings pension receive Pension Credit.
One of my ex relations now has a brand new bungalow, no PP,, never really had full employment, he does have chest complaints receives all sorts of benefits including a brand new mobility car, he has more income than he ever did when he was working.

And now Sunaks saying his government finally Gunna crack down on these benefits fraudsters.
Doh sctatchinghead Which government gives them 20k a year to take the piss.

Looking like this crackdown will pave the way for tax thresholds to rise in the game changing Autumn Budget.
Like I've said previously the gap between working n skiving has to be widened majorly.
But still look after the genuine benefit claiments which is a small minority.

plus if you happen to be in the wrong company any criticism of that group and you,d be hounded out of town by them as being an uncaring individual blah blah blah. if hartlepool is like other places i have lived there is bound to be a pub somewhere frequented by the workshy where all the information necessary can be found for the claiments. mind you if the tax thresholds are not raised they,ll be paying tax on their benefits next.

Back in the day Skid Row in the Owton manor Club was the place to be if you needed info on all the latest information on your "entitlement" and how to get it.

What I find so annoying is these "Fraud" programs on TV when they have covert cameras following a suspected fraudster and catch them in the act showing they have no disability that they are claiming for. You see these con artists claiming they can't walk more than 6 feet, next minute they are shown climbing a ladder to wash the top floor windows.

The DWP (or whoever) then carry out the surveillance for several weeks before calling them in for interview, surely their money should be stopped from the first moment they are caught cheating?

Border force can beat that….they raid somewhere, collar a load of illegals working, take them to their offices, get the details and then let them go to report back in a months time….now you won't believe this…. but ….for some strange reason they’re never seen again…. banghead
Shit for brains.
