Speculation about Hartlepool Utd potentially signing Craig Clay from Sutton United.

Understand he is one of interest but nothing close as yet. Location proving to be a stumbling block potentially.

Career seems varied, geographically, York, Grimsby, Barrow, Motherwell, unless he is getting picky in his old age. Give him a year with an option for a second term, if he’s not happy he goes after 1, if he’s happy and decent the 2nd year option comes into play.

Last I heard we’re south of Motherwell.

Was wondering about Umerah. When he is fit again, will he start to make an effort with KP as boss? He must know, his current attitude is career suicide. Any manager watching video of his performances since this time last year wouldnt want to know.

This was rumoured the other day on here.

I hope its true and we can get him on a perm basis - seems KP has a team in mind he would like to start preseason with for next season.

He has bags of experience and if i remember rightly was a hell of a CM for Leyton Orient that season they went up. Many will have seen him play without realising. I think i seen him for Motherwell aswell when i was working up that way.

Umerah will end up NLS if he isnt careful - he had every opportunity to rip this league a new one. He should of been out and out up there with Mani D on goals. His attitude and laziness has cost him dearly. No league club will want to know him now thats for sure !

he has been off the boil for 12 months now and its to be seen if KP can get him back on track or not. for me manny d and him look on a different wavelength which might not be the fault of either player but just cannot play together.

i was impressed with Kahn and how he linked up with Mani at the weekend - hes been needing someone like that all season.

id imagine it will get better too as the games go by - he will also grab a few himself id imagine as he isnt afraid to shoot like most.

if we can keep these types of lads for next season id be over the moon !

thats how i see it now. them and a few more additions during the summer might give us more hope for a new season than it has for a few years. be great also if some more of those who KP inherited also turned their career round to give him a headache whether to offer em new contracts or not.

Waterfall, Parkes will be ...along with Grey, Dixon, Dodds, Burton, Mani O, Wallace, Mani D.
Believe we have an option on Wreh and Mancini for another year.

Its a great starting point and better than last years if im honest. Given the calibre of players we have seen come in under KP can only imagine a full summer recruitment being much better than the last (thats if Raj gives him the cash of course). Shame we have not managed to make any money from player sales i.e Dolan, Umerah .. Hastie etc and no doubt see them leave the club this summer with no gain to Pools really (apart from a saved wage or 2). Hastie and Dolans paycheck alone should get us a very good player in.

Feaths will no doubt now of seen his final season in blue and white, although i think he should take up a coaching role within the club. Unless he wants to turn out for the dog and duck next year in NLN.

Ferguson needs to be replaced too if we are having a proper clear out again.

Wonder if Cooke will be kept on or he still thinks he has what it takes to do something the level above ?

last of all we must must get Mancini tied down to a 3 year contract with sell on clauses the lot !

Wishful thinking...come on.. what possible reason would Mancini have to tie himself down to us for three years??
He undoubtedly can play higher.. and no doubt there will be a lot of interest in the summer.
Wouldn't be surprised if his agent has already been in discussions.
Careers are short and career ending injuries can come at any time.
Just can't see him wanting to stay.
We might get a bit of money for his option maybe.

Even still we have to take up the option on his contract for a year - he has to understand we gave him a route back into the mens game at a decent enough level to still be in the shop window ! its business, we then have a sell on clause when City come knocking for 90 mill !
No doubt he will have admirers from above maybe even back in his native france who knows ? main thing is we get cash for him when he does go.

Be nice to think KP can inspire Josh to get back to the form he was in during the first half of last season - scoring goals for a side that was nowhere near League 2 standard. Hard to imagine though - his loss of form has been catastrophic. Askey slaughtered Sylla for allowing his head to be turned but never questioned Umerah’s attitude this season or last - in fact he kept praising him for the effort he put in. It was obvious that what he’d lost is his self-belief. Fatal for a goalscorer.
