Musician Sheku Kanneh-Mason has said Rule, Britannia! "makes people feel uncomfortable" and should not be sung at the Last Night of the Proms.
What’s the U.K. coming to, we can’t even sing our own songs now ?

He played at the wedding of Harry & Meghan so surely a bit of a royalist so don't understand his stance - by the way got an OBE for that performance!

Sod him

he can do one and he is not forced to attend the event in the first place. makes people feel uncomfortable what a load of tripe. not over keen on it myself but its only a tune with words like many others i like, dislike or totally neutral about. just cannot these people get their brains into gear and find out when it was written and why. i feel uncomfortable that there are people around in this country who feel as they are about the place and cannot shut their mouths knocking a bloody song. next thing is they,ll stop our goal music when we score to protect the mental health of our visiting fans.

Who exactly is finding this offensive, most people probably only listen to it at most once a year. Apparently its a dog whistle to racists (most of them attend the proms for a bit of jingoism). Absolute nonsense, he needs to read some history books. When Britain ruled the waves, we used that power to enforce the abolition of slavery.

It's only played at a very small number of events, if he doesn't like it stay the f*ck away. The majority who attend the proms at the Royal Albert Hall and via live streams all over the country love it.
What's wrong with a bit of patriotism anyway? Imagine telling Germans their National Anthem is not woke and should be banned.
