Some Chester fans saying we have made an approach for their gaffa Calum McIntyre
But the club have knocked us back.

Been doing a very good job by all accounts.
At Chester and before.

I would think if anything Calum would have turned us down. He "graduated" through the ranks at Chester, is local, and very committed to them.

Only 30 years old, I don’t think he has ever played football professionally ?

would he really have ever been a contender if we had beaten his chester side in the first place. a bit like fans wanting to sign certain players because they played well against us without seeing em in other games.

Remember Chris Lewellyn from Wrexham anyone as fine example.

Agree.
And he would cost in compo given the length of his contract, cash which presumably we ain't got to spare.
Still he looks a right hard b/stard, willing to go toe to toe with anyone if necessary, which is exactly what a few in this team need imo.

He’s good friends with Tom Crawford and I believe friends with Challinor too. He was the manager of Runcorn Linnets when we played them in a friendly a couple of years back. That fixture only came about because of their relationship.
Would actually be quite keen on this appointment, a young rated manager who’s got a good points return in his season and a half in management, however the Challinor thing could be why it’s reported he’s turned us down…

Lot of speculation about a manager whose side is only just in a play off place in the NLN! The Chester fans are no wiser than we are about whether there's anything in it and - even if it's Hartlepool not another club who has made the approach, supposing there has been one.

Can't see Raj paying compo for a non-league manager who has won nowt. Challinor was out of work when he signed on for Pools.

Honestly you're better off without him. Anyone who comes across him always mentions how arrogant and rude he is. Well known as a knob in Chester businesses for how he acts. Only have to look at one of his interviews to see that.

that sounds as if he is the ideal candidate for a new manager. its a job where nice guts rarely succeed and the ones who do a good interview could be real back stabbing gits away from the mike.
