Even if we paid part of their wages- with the money saved, could use to bring in a nasty centre half and a horrible midfield general to shake the fuckers up!?

Would some dog food manufacturer be interested in them….?

What about the French- they like horses- though admittedly they are far from throughbred, and don't suppose it matters if they're going to be canned!

There was a Chinese restaurant in Kettering- a few years ago that got caught selling horse meat - thankfully not one I've ever darkened the door of!

Nothing wrong with horse meat, I have eaten it a few times whilst abroad, very nice.

They were restaurants recommended by the people I worked in Malta and Italy where horse meat is a delicacy therefore I doubt very much it was minced cat more so it wasn’t mince. I always liked to sample the local food whee ever I go, love the spicy food here in Thailand.

Into November and still the takeover isn't completed.

I see trouble ahead and if we lose 3 points we will be staring at the bottom 4

Have they paid the tax bill? Has the transfer embargo been lifted? Just wondering.

The club confirmed an agreement had been reached for a takeover on October 3, with a target completion date of November 1, but was delayed to November 17.
It is understood the November 17 target date is still on track.

If you are a betting man would you put money on a completion date of 17 November which is only just over a week away?

NO I wouldn't!

Supposedly so but RM moves the goalposts (sorry about the pun) every other week.

The agreement seems to hinge on the council giving him planning permission to build quite a few houses on his other site which he was intended to move the club to.

But I think there are a few councilors who are trying to resist the planning application so further delays are expected, if not halted altogether

More than a few, plus the fans who are turning up to the public consultation with rejection claims about the new houses he wants to build on the land.

My friend says that's Ron parting gift. Let Kevin walk to Bristol and he pockets the compensation

Believe Ron wanted to build houses on Roots Hall, And move the club to the new venue.

Now he wants what would have been the new venue for the houses
With the club now staying at Roots Hall.

I Think.

Correct, but…the councillor’s representing where the new ground was to be built don’t want houses building there. one step forward, two steps back.

Some saying the latest date of 17th (Friday) isn't going to happen but probably be early December.

If I was the intended buyer I would have p*ssed off by now.

The way this drama is stretching there must be another wedge of money owing to HMRC.

Beat Chesterfield today but latest date of 17th missed for the official takeover.

I heard that HMRC is owed monies from May.

I expect RM is still lining his pockets and supporters worrying when it is all going to end.

Still no confirmed sale and they played yesterday with only 12 players and soon after goalie was injured and went off - no substitute goalie so outfielder goes in goal.

With the Christmas & New Year break soon upon us, nothing is going to happen until January at the earliest. How many months now? It cannot be allowed to continue
can it?

According to my outlaws who are SARFend fans-
Apparently the new owner is paying the players. Though Ron is still stalling on finalising the deal as they won't let him build houses (or as many as he would now like, now that he won't be building a new ground) on the land were his new stadium was going to be. There has been some objections lodged to his ever changing plans
Also issues around Roots Hall as the new owner wants Ron to contribute towards it's upkeep after he let it fall into disrepair.
Personally not sure how long this can go on for.

This is why they are still under transfer embargo.
Yesterdays game at home to Bromley was delayed for 10 minutes as one of their players crashed into an advertising hoarding., but with only1 sub they managed to patch him up and he played on.
The same player then ended up in goal after the keeper had to go off injured later in the game. And we think we've got problems!

Southend United are free to sign players for the first time since September 2022 after the club's transfer embargo was lifted.
The decision has been made with Southend set to be taken over by Australian businessman Justin Rees.
"The embargo has now been lifted following the significant developments that has satisfied both HMRC and the National League," said the league's general manager Mark Ives.

Fair do’s to them, but you have to admire the playing staff for their spirit and attitude under the most trying of circumstances football wise.
Oh for players with half their resolve and true never say die intent, who stood by the club. clappp
They have team spirit, we have ‘teamaphobia’, head shakingly embarrassing in comparison.

a case of a start to an old exam question where you have to compare and contrast something or other.

Considering how well they have done in the face of shocking adversity, with the addition of a one or two decent players, they must be nailed on for a play off spot in spite of the ten point deduction. Just shows what can be done with a top class manager and steely determination.

Trouble is we’ve got a flop class manager and not so much steely determination as big girl’s blouse’s flapping in the wind.

a couple of sendings off and half a dozen cautions in a game if they were not for handball or technical stuff would be an improvement now. at least it would show they really care and do have guts and not the mirror image of a WW2 italian deserter.

Although the "New Owners" are paying wages and other bills, the agreement to purchase/sell involving Ron Martin has not been finalized. They were even in court today at Basildon re some energy bills, although that was cancelled as these bills had been paid recently.

The problem is about the agreement between RM and Southend Council over Fossetts Farm.

The saga carries on.

There is even talk today because the final agreement isn't complete that a creditor from the Ron Martin era, still waiting for their payment is about to start a winding up order.

Poor Southend you couldn't make it up.

Ron's still in charge- but somehow he's got the new people paying the players.

According to my outlaws- Apparently someone (rumoured to be Ron's son) wants their money back and is about to issue a winding up order.

What if the new prospective owners decide to fuck off (think he's Aussie)- they'll want their money back too.

I don't understand how the league have allowed this to keep dragging on

And we think we have problems!

This must be torture for the fans, how do you cope with being on the cliff edge for this length of time…a bit like being taken out to face the firing squad then put off as they do it all over again the next day.and they day after…just hope it works out for them.

unless things have changed at southend i think a lot of their problems are to do with the wages their players might be on. back in the league they were paying 3 times more to a journeyman full back than at least 4 northern teams were paying goalscoring strikers. a certain culture at a club seems to stay the same whoever owns or runs it.

know very little about financial matters but by winding up the club would that mean a creditor can get his money back or is it just spite.

The winding up order postponed until 15 May after today's hearing whilst RM says things should be complete towards the end of May.

Delay, after delay with this comic. Anyone willing to give a date when this fiasco will end?
