The Guardian and the BBC will find a way of blaming it on the government. I suspect more moderates wont worry too much about it. Not everything that happens is someone's fault.

It's a nightmare for all of us and it's getting worse. I have no idea how or when this illegal invasion will be mastered and I can't see any light emanating from the Houses of Parliament tunnel either, whoever is in charge.

RIP to the fella who died, it was a recipe for disaster from day 1 to consider putting hundreds on a barge, I have lived on similar barges and they can be very claustrophobic but at least we went to work for 12/14 hours. Basically the rooms were only to have a shower and sleep in not as a semi permanent home.

Better than the tents on the sand dunes in France, no one complains about them.
We’re soft as clarts in this country.

Indeed we are. This is why people risk life and limb to get here.

These people coming on the boats are criminals, no ifs or buts they are breaking the law.Imagine coming back to UK from holiday and pushing past the Border force without your passport. I guarantee you would be made an example of and go to jail. Until the government goes against international law we will never stop this and our services will be and way of life will be decimated. They need to be turned back to France when they enter our waters.

The Tory’s are useless at stopping them, now Starmer says he has the answer, but doesn’t tell us what it is….he says he’ll speed up the processing of illegals, but what really counts is what percentage will be deported…..if you allow 95% to stay here speeding up processing of applications will make no difference whatsoever.

They speed up the process by waving them through without proper checks. All the do gooders triumphantly declare that more asylum seekers are granted asylum in the UK than in most other countries as if the asylum seekers are all very deserving but this is not the case as I previously stated. Of course the high success rate of asylum claims in the UK is a significant pull factor.

I think you are spot on there, it will never end and it's just become a theoretical political football. But it diverts our attention from the bigger problems/issues that affect us all.

So have I,but i would have thought it was still better than living in a bombed out home with no running water etc where they've supposedly come from.

thought they also lived in abject poverty but somehow have more money than i have to hire a place on a boat from a smuggler. wonder how their wives and kids are managing without there wage earner. the do gooders never seem to be bothered about that.

It actually is one of the bigger problems facing us. The rest of Europe have woken up to it.

they might have woken up to it but we,ll be the last to do owt about it. we are doomed until the day comes that a government will give the majority of its people what they want on this and every other issue and not big business and the noisy minorities.

The ‘majority’ are bottom of the pile, we are ignored, manipulated and quite frankly treat with contempt.

It appears the U.K. can source accommodation for Asylum Seekers which includes ex military basis and the Biddy Stockholm but not our own, 270000 homeless people including 123000 children. Whilst not ideal surely some thing like the Biddy Stockholm or the ex military bases would at least get them off the streets ?

Every immigrant approved will get a National Insurance number.

The more NI numbers you create, the better the GDP figures look, and your collateral for loans from other countries improves.

That's all that's you need to know to explain why it is allowed, and why it will never stop no matter which party gets in.

like the asylum seekers its only going to put a roof over their heads and not give em jobs that they need to have. they are not being housed in places of mass unemployment for a start or places were there are jobs aplenty. they are temporary situations but cannot on my life see a permanent one for any of them.

Farmers are complaining about labour shortages for harvesting to the extend some have given up planting certain produce meaning the U.K. is going to have import it making it more expensive.
Can’t some the asylum seekers be put to work some might be glad to relieve the boredom, forgot the woke brigade will see it’s ‘cruel’.o

Most of the boat people will disappear into the black economy…17,000 have so far, that’s the debt they owe to their ‘ferry company’…. don’t expect to see them working on the land, they haven’t come here for that.
