Some of them are rash, some are pretty reasonable expectations which are not being met. I've said before, one season might not be enough to get over last seasons farce. Rash to think we can just scatter an entire squad, contracts and all. Can't blame Askey for that. The buffoonery was from different people before he was even hired.

Just to play devil's advocate here. Do we think the players enjoy being beaten at home and getting booed off? I think it is unlikely, so that takes us to the conclusion that they are simply not good enough to win games consistently. We dont have enough(any?) players with that little bit extra that can turn a game in our favour which then gets the more average players to up their performance. I gather we started brightly against Chester but once their goal went in, things started to deteriorate maybe players making safe passes that were never going to trouble Chester. Players scared to take risks. I dont claim to know the answers but just thought I would give my two pen'north.

There was a time when a Pools defeat would ruin my weekend. These days I sometimes don't find out the result until after the weekend.

tha last sentence is far more important than the eastleigh or chester results. 4 points is the real minimum for me out of the next 3 games to keep my interest up to be prepared to watch spineless crap.

just treat a pools win as a bonus as we,d have few decent weekends to enjoy otherwise.

Pools regularly struggled against sides that came to the Vic and put 10 men behind the ball the last time we were in the NL. Lost count of the number of times crap sides like Dover nicked a goal on the break and took the 3 points. Not surprised Chester were able to do the same on Saturday, the current Pools side is really vulnerable to a quick counter-attack.

Not too bothered about the result - even a good cup run makes no difference to where Pools finish up in the league - as Spike Lee discovered to his cost a couple of seasons ago.

Still, unlike the beginning of the season when Pools were able to bounce straight back from conceding a goal, a lot of heads are quick to drop these days. Askey mentioned it post-match - wonder if it's because too many players think they can't be dropped? It's time he backed his words with deeds and benched a few. Plus, give someone else the captaincy - Fergie is nobody's idea of an inspirational leader on the pitch.
