On the OS now, very open and honest from the Chairman, says it as it is.

According to Singh Curle has already spoken to the players who are surplus to requirements, are any of them in the current first team squad ?
Again it goes down to are there any clubs out there who would take them of our hands, I doubt any of them who are under contract would just walk away with out compo.

Just wondering who those players are? My guess is Paterson, Hastie, Njolie.

Raj admitted he got it wrong with Hartley and I think he is genuinely trying to put it right.
He apologised for his mistake but I don't think it was necessary to apologise. The man who never made a mistake never did anything. Although an apology is an honourable reaction, the best reaction is to bust a gut to minimise the consequences of the mistake. He appears to be trying to put it right, let's see how successful his efforts become.
I think both the council and Pools need to be a bit more transparent with the lack of progress over ground improvements/development. What are the sticking points and what is being done to make progress. Councils up and down the country are working with football clubs in an attempt to improve things, so why not Hartlepool Council who appear to be the masters of talking a lot but doing very little. Hasn't that always been the case. it certainly seems that way.

I don’t blame him for appointing Hartley. He seemed to have more successes than failures. He also said the right things - front foot attacking football, being at the ground as it was important to create a culture at the club. However, turns out he alienated the back room staff and we all saw the football played was certainly not front foot attacking football. Also signed some donkeys on two year contracts.

Where I would criticise was that we all knew come deadline day that the squad was weak and we definitely needed at least one more CB and all we got was a midfielder on loan late on.

Taylor and Odour already gone. I’m sure Curle would love to get rid of the others mentioned and I don’t think he would be bothered about Murray,Lacey and Tumilty. However I doubt he could bring in enough replacements and will have to wait till end of season to have a good clear out. In fact I doubt if no more than 3 or four of the present squad will be with us next season.

I left out Murray,Lacey and Tumilty on the basis at least they try and being realistic of the numbers involved how ever Raj did say 4 or 5 new players which would sound about right at this stage and use the loan market going forward to see out the rest of the season.

Niang? I know he is injured a lot but I thought he was one of the better Hartley signings? He can function as a CH and in midfield. Letheran has a coaching role doesn't he? Hamilton is a regular starter so unless someone very good is brought in, he will be staying.

Letheran was a mates job by Hartley and we can do with out a goalie coach for 5 months.
Niang hasnt been on the pitch long enough to get injured and if this is the case get rid.
I just think with Hamilton, KC has not much of an option but play the long ball how ever its getting better with Ferguson and sterry getting forward more often.

Very true.what raj fails to explain to us is why we now have to shop in the national league and lower Scottish league rather than established league 2 clubs and why we don't seem to be able to keep hold of any half decent player. I'm sorry but I feel its all talk again.

Singh appointed Hartley as the manager and Hartley recommended the signings, Shopping in the NL is probably only what the budget can afford. Pools are not flush with cash where they can shop around in the higher league divisions and pay transfer fees and pay the salaries those players would want.

That's right, and Raj talked of around 4 coming in during the window and all of them needing to be good enough to be starters. Wonder if that includes 2 new loan signings to replace Taylor and Odour?

I doubt there'll be many more than 4 leaving including those two. Ndjoli and Paterson look most likely to go, plus it seems odds on Missilou won't get his 1 month contract extended.

Pools still have Crawford and Lacey on the long term injury list so I doubt KC will fancy having a squad of less than 20 (plus the Academy players) to play the second half of the season with.

If the budget won't even stretch to getting players in from the SAME league then whoever sets the budget needs to have a word with themselves.

whilst some things need to be kept behind the scenes there should be a lot more openess in football nowadays as there is. fans need to know something due to the time and money they spend. saves the rumours and the 2 and 2 making 5 as well.

DC didn't have to portray himself as a good manager though. It was obvious he was.

When clubs sack managers including Pools there is a non disclosure agreement attached to the compensation paid, say anything and they lose the compensation.

No not at all its just that results alone would make DC popular. He was doing his job and doing it well. That was always going to get him popularity. How and why the fist pumps could be a ploy, I do not know.

DC was in his element with the media. He came across in a very good light and spoke in a way that gave you confidence he knew what he was doing. Anyway, all water under an old bridge now.

I think it was a great gesture too.
Come on Kev don’t tell me your granda wouldn’t give to the Spitfire fund in 1940 because he thought the money would be better spent signing Ebeneezer Bangiron from Slagthorpe Town.

I think most people thought we had a decent bunch of signings through the summer, early season results would back that up. Up to Askey and the players to perform at their best now, and Raj to back him as best he can.
Easy to criticise the owner but maybe he's maxed out his level of commitment can you say that the players and manager are fulfilling their potential 100%?

They are not fulfilling their potential at the moment, You can see glimpses but not sustained.
Just got to battle on and force the tide to turn.
Running out and trying to buy players is not the answer.
Players need to earn their worth, As does the manager and coaching staff.
Its times like this when they show their true abilities.

Well they showed us clearly today that they can compete despite the injury crisis, so maybe it was a confidence thing, a formation thing or just them finally getting comfortable with each other, but the proof was there.
