Have to say now that I've finally seen their equaliser, that's 3 poor efforts from Dixon - beaten at the near post for the first, flaps (twice) at the second, and the third is another one that goes straight through him.

Pools scored 2 good goals that their keeper stood no chance with.

I’m waiting for the ‘Sons of Killip, Order of the Bun ‘ to demand his recall.

possibly it might be the time to give the lad on loan from harrogate a chance if he is showing up well in training. think dixon is an improvement on his predessor but still has a mistake in him. thats a couple of similar goals he has conceeded this season where he looks to have the ball covered but it went in.

Can't we put big Josh in goal? Warming the bench. Might as well be out there in some capacity.

Need to work on set pieces and maybe take a look at the other keeper. Still a lot of work to do but the guys fought to the end. This is going to be a test of Askeys management now to get us through the injuries timescales.

Chesterfield scored straight from a corner and from a short free kick, so there's no doubt JA will be unhappy with aspects of the whole team's defending. Pools struggled all game to stop crosses coming in - especially little dinks to the far post from around the penalty area. They'd have won by more if their finishing was better.

That said, it's the old commentators cliche: 'If the goalkeeper looks at himself, he'll be disappointed he didn't keep that one out" x 3!

I think there’s bigger concerns with what happens on Saturday.
This could be interesting.

Weve failed to outscore in only 2 games but conceded 6 goals which
could easily have been 10.
JA knows what he needs.
We all do.
Some urgent help from above.
Simples.

Dixon has the same weakness on crosses as killip
And doesn’t have the same shot stopping ability based on evidence so far, though his distribution is better

Real weakness is amount of crosses we let in, say I quietly but a right back/right wing back who closes down the cross much better would make a diff

Can only blame keepers for so long before the penny drops
Issue is the lack of protection we giving them

Think we might see Jameson start on Saturday, having seen the Lowlights.
There is a case that Dixon could have done better with all 3. That's not to criticise him as he's still a massive improvement on Benny the ManBun!

Though as previously stated by others above,, we need to cut out more of the crosses into the box at source.

found that more annoying than our ability once the cross came over and how we dealt with that.

Don,t think the keeper is at fault at all for the first, Think Seaman should have dealt with it easily.
