Typical, I expect all these footy programmes to end up 50-50 when it comes to match day coverage and ‘experts’ panels.

They’re football but two separate games….. the mens game is far more physical and if for example Chelsea’s men’s team played Chelseas’ women’s team at full pace, the match would be over in ten minutes.

even the lasses know this and its a good reason why the mens and womens game have their own FIFA governing body where the laws of the game can be tweaked slightly between them. ever watched a lot of the womens throw ins for a start. most for me are more than a bit dubious.

It is all about politics. The feminists perceive the tiniest hint of what they consider to be sexist and they are out with pitch forks at the ready. They have no interest in the context of what Souness actually said. I notice that since he clarified what he meant, not one of the Beth England's fan club have said "Oh sorry, we misunderstood". It seems to me we are not dealing with reasonable people and it is a mistake to think we are. Actually, football is very much a man's game. It was invented by men and has well over a century of history and tradition as a man's game. Vastly more men play it than women do and vastly more men watch it than women do. The England Women won the Euros, good for them but that is no reason the standard vocabulary of the game has to change to suit them. They need to wind their necks in.

Its only a saying that you,ll hear every week in football when players think the ref is being overfussy in the game. there is no sexual contact in any way meant. the problem is with people who bring that into it. do we have to cancel every single phrase we used because someone somewhere in a back bedroom takes offence mostly for others. will will be kicked out of the vic if we dare shout at the opposition player who goes down easily by saying get up you puff or fairy or being a big girl. again its a word or saying without any sexual hate context at all.

I totally agree Mr Ozzy. This pretence of levelling up the game is nonsense for trying to put them on an equal footing when they aren’t, but funny how the MSM with their ignorance of the game, try to convince us it is, but it’s like comparing Formula 1 to Go Karting, roughly similar but no comparison whatsoever, despite being good in their respective fields.
My great fear is the emergence of HaB’s (Husband’s and Boyfriends)

Disgraceful comment but is it not more referenced to boys and men.
But i have had enough of the miserable Sourness and his mates Keane, Neville etc. Get shot of them and get Kammy and Flintoff on.
Lets put some fun and laughter into the Premier league!

Call me a dinosaur, but I enjoyed the banter on the panels and match day comments from the retired pro’s, the banter, the humour and the experience they brought.
You tend to find nowadays at all levels most member’s of any panel is composed of young so called ‘expert’s’ who were gonna make it …. but never did and whose patter and contribution is poor ….. or some woman player you’ve honestly never heard of …..being interviewed by some anodyne female sports journalist, the result being to turn it off or go into a coma.

Every programme on TV more so the BBC has to have either a woman or a black person or there is a cry out it’s discrimination if there isn’t.
We used to have great craic wether it be at work or socially, young uns don’t have the same sense of humour we had, maybe it’s because they watch the modern day comedians or they are part of the woke brigade ?

if they did not promote it as much people may watch and take it how it is. keep banging on about it causes more negativity for many. remember it was not invented a few years ago but been with us over 100 years.

I notice how all the top Premiership teams have their women’s team’s which they pamper to a lesser degree, to extend their status into the womens game…… Now when there’s independent teams in a league with women turning up in numbers on a regular basis I may lose my cynicism……if women’s football was that popular, it would have been with us for decades, you do get the feeling it’s a product of the media in it’s present form.

It's another example of the BBC et al trying to run our lives for us. No thanks from me.

are these womens teams run separate from the mens or they both survive from the same pot. the purists may want them to be distanced from the mens sides by name but i have a feeling those pushing it would prefer it to stay as it is. is anyone male or female more interested in pools lasses because they are under the hartlepool united banner rather than just being called hartlepool ladies.

I think they’ll go broke then….. if women were interested in football it would have surfaced years ago and created it’s own market. The move by the ‘meeeeja’ to intertwine it with the mens game is fooling no one but the gullible and gormless.. I just think most women really aren’t that interested in the men’s game, let alone the women’s.
The BBC and a few others coverage now is a woke joke, but ticks their self righteous smug boxes.

there have always been sporty lasses and those that hate it with a passion. Saying that it seems that black and mixed race lasses are more interested in it that the rest of the community. Could be the reason for all this media interest as they are ticking more than one box off their agenda.

I don't agree. What is happening is it is being rammed down our throats, especially by the BBC. The main reason for that is the fact that the BBC can't compete for cricket and football live coverage of the men's game, so they push the women's.
I look out for our ladies results but don't search for them and have never attended a live match to watch them play and have no intention of doing so. The only ladies match I have attended this century was the Euro semi final at Bramall Lane. Last century I attended one Prices v Cerebos game.
I think it is great that more girls are being encouraged to take up sport and the Government is investing millions in the concept especially in schools. I wonder what percentage of those millions will actually be spent on sport and not be diverted into other channels by the headteachers.
I just get put off by the forcing attitude and would prefer it to find it's own level realistically rather than forcibly.

I think covering woman's sports was all the BBC had left, what’s the alternative…..?….. extreme snooker, outdoor darts, international curling, endless running over wet, misty moors by people of indeterminate sex, covered in mud and cow muck…. nude ludo, all possible sports they could pay some panel of experts to spout utter bollox on with our money.

the bbc had better remember that if their wish comes true about womens football getting more popular they,ll lose that as well. next thing there will be cameras at your local rec televising the sunday league with all its benefits ofdiversity, inclusion and healthy living. then they,ll be off to the pub and featuring a grudge pool match between both teams with jamie oliver commenting on the nutritional vale of the pies and ale they scoff.

Nah, that’s just the future for football at the BBC, they’ve let it slip out accidentally.

I always enjoyed playing rounders against the girls at junior school (one of the few sports the sexes were allowed to mix). There was always a teacher who had more sympathy for them and they always one but they did show great competiveness. Hated rugby and wouldn't have wanted to come up against some of them play the game today (women that is, sorry Gary et all, am I allowed to say that? Or is reality like history about to be changed?

At senior school we played football and rugby but you had a choice of which you played and out of four classes only six lads played rugby.
One cold frosty day it was decided we’d all have to try rugby. We were all lined up and split into two’s and we had to tackle our opposite number…the first pair stepped forward and just stood there looking at the frozen rutted mud and just froze, nobody wanted to do it and they gave up on rugby…the six who did play all became social climbers.
