The Hooligan scores for Grimsby.
We should never have let him go.

Scores 2 penalties, wish we had someone who could score 2 penalties.....oh wait...

Seriously though should never have been allowed to leave so meekly, was a good player for us.

Another master stroke from GL, And people wonder why he was shifted.
Well done Gav, Some managers don,t like players being too popular.

Thanks for that Spike!

A shambles letting him go. Have many times have we screamed for a midfielder with goal scoring potential this season?

Grame Lee took us to Palace away and pizza cup Semi but his behaviour to Gav deserved the sack.

By far the best midfielder of the wolf pack.

Getting rid of Holohan was an act of madness, will the real reason ever be revealed?
Lee was the start of the rot…the Cup runs disguised a lot of his failings and the end of season run in was beyond any logic….. someone promoted the cabin boy to Captain and we’re still feeling the effects today.

Holohan left because he was offered a better deal which Pools couldn’t or wouldn’t match wether is was his salary or the length of his contract. We have no idea if Lee was involved, he came out and said Holohan wasn’t in his plans or wether it was or the C.E. who decided the salaries and the contracts to be offered to players.

Surely you not blaming Lee for were we are now.
That reason is well above the previous managers.
But its always the managers who are the scapegoat s.
Even Pep or Klopp would struggle working under the Messiah.
Real reason :
Nailed on Money.
Same as why most of our semi decent players leave and expect a few more to continue the cycle of Destruction.

Start of the rot:
Not having that like.
Getting promoted and then running the club on the cheap and cheap is more closer to the bone.

Of course it was the managers fault, Holohan was frozen out by Lee for a couple of months. Lee even preferred a young, unproven lad called Fletcher who was rubbish.

Holohan was under contract when he left, Lee agreed he was surplus to requirement and let him leave to National League Grimsby outside of the transfer window.

There isn't a comparison between what we offered and what Grimsby offered as we made no offer. Lee did not want him.

100% Lees fault.

This, 100%. In the 2 months after the January transfer window closed last season Gav was an unused substitute for Pools 7 times, got on the pitch for a few minutes once and once didn't even make the matchday squad. Then he was let go. Lee had no interest in playing him.

Suggesting anything else happened is the usual speculative tosh from the usual people.

not 100 per cent true for me. gav was not having his best season and challinor started the ball rolling by dropping him first and using him sparingly. he looked if he had fell out with the game and pools under lee and a move suited him more than it did for pools with 2 and not one manager able to get him back on song. lee was a poor manager all round but the next thing he,ll be blamed for signings before he came to the club.

Whether you like G. Lee or not.
He got of to a great start which brought a lot of unbudgeted income to Pools and within sniffing distance of the play offs this time last year.

A lot better than Hartley n Curle who brought jackshit to Pools on n off the pitch.
All 3 never made it past the 6 months probation period.
Id cut Lee a bit of slack IMO.
Meanwhile back to today.
A miracle of other results going our way to try n avoid Oblivion.

All matches:
G Lees record befor the Rotherham game was good, 10 wins and eight draws out of 22 games.
However after the Rotherham game tells a different story.
12 games played 1 win and 4 draws.

really shows he was not a mr.motivator or a good all round man manager with that or the gav situation. being involved with under 23 football is not an excuse. people have it or have not.

Kev, polish your glasses…. He was an academy coach, and had never managed a team at this level and boy did it show, he was out of his depth.
He rode in on Challinor’s coat tails and when the cup runs ended so did his ability to manage….which is why he got the push.
If he was any good, his diabolical run in which saw his demise which was shocking …….. meant we got Hartley, do the maths, every action has a reaction….in our case with disastrous results….you might have a soft spot for Lee I don’t…. A lot better, nah, a decent player, but manager……no .
We must beg to differ on this one.

Holohan started the season well under Challinor (2 goals in August) then an injury put him out of the side - he wasn't dropped. He struggled to get back to his best form after that, in part because he never got a decent run in the side. The Grimsby manager plays him every week - and reaps the benefits.

Getting promoted and then running the club on the cheap and cheap is more closer to the bone.

Running the club on the cheap in this case is beside the point, he just wasn’t manager material at this level….. and if the club was being run on the cheap, we must logically have got a rookie manager with Poolie roots and kerbside appeal……. to tug at fans heartstrings on the cheap.
You can’t have it both ways.

Curle got an 18 month contract at the beginning of December. His 'probation period' was when he was interim manager. Do you seriously think he'd have signed his 18 month deal if Raj had said, 'By the way, you're still on probation for another couple of months'? sctatchinghead

Or maybe you have a copy of Curle's contract in your possession? Give us all a look then.

Agree, however, I prefer Cod, but a bit of Whiting is nice too

Think Curle bottled it, In his post match interview V Newport he said (It would have been a creditable point) if we had drawn.
Newport are at best a average team.

they might be an average team but on the night the way pools played i,d have been happy with a point also and move on. really a game where both sides should have had a point taken off em both for masquerading as two football teams.
