Are these two liabilities both on 2 year contracts ?

Lacey hasn’t been heard of since his injury and Murray must realize he’ll never play for us again

Hopefully they both slink off somewhere at the end of the season though I can’t see another club at conference level wasting a wage on them so we probably have to pay them off.

Should get them in early and late for training if they stay here

Murray was a regular at his previous club Kilmarnock when they were in the Scottish Championship, best we can hope for they both go out on loan.
In Hartleys defence albeit he appeared to be tactically inept he didn’t have a decent budget irrespective what Singh said, the squad was paper thin so it was quantity rather than quality.

Pools signed Alex Lacey from Notts County, a team that was always near the top of the National League when he played for them, including a play-off final. Before that he had over 100 games in the EFL for Gillingham, Yeovil and Luton.

He was poor when this season started under Hartley (though never as bad as Murray) but got better under Curle and chipped in with a couple of goals from set pieces before he got injured. In the unlikely event Pools stay up he needs moving on, but if we're back in the NL he'll fit right in.

the situation with defenders is so bad that their first two replacements hartley and dolan are no better than them. just wonder who the pair of pointless signings really are.

Defence in horrendous.
But theres a bigger problem in Midfield.
Weak as piss no tackling no speed no strength and gets outrun for fun of every team for 2 seasons now.
Sack the wing back shit off n go
4 5 1.
So 7 defensive players to form a brick wall.
Safety in numbers.
The art to football management aint rocket science.
UTP.

Lacey and Murray are better than Hartley and Dolan. Watch Hartley for their second goal yesterday. Instead of moving towards their guy when Foran slipped he goes backwards and invites the guy to shoot.

just attack as a team and defend as one. players tend to take the midfield roll too literally and stay there not helping defence of attack when they should be.

Murray is slow, poor in possession and generally not up to this level. Lacey for me is nowhere near as bad as him, he can at least pass the ball for a start. Not saying he's a world beater but he had tumilty and Murray alongside him and Killip behind him so he was already fighting a losing battle. Certainly looks no worse than Hartley currently does!.

After watching yesterdays game i can see us involved in some high scoring games.

Dolan or Featherstone in midfield matter of choice/opinion both lack pace. Dolan at centre back again lack of pace and not strong enough in the air which is something you need in this league.

Lacey is weak as piss, pretty much every other team
Have defenders built like brick shithouses

Dolan not good enough and Hartley contribution for
Their 2nd was embarrassing

Hartleys clearances / passes / kicks / headers nearly always go directly to the opposition.
But what did anyone expect with a signing from a cricket country.

Then theres the injuries and suspensions to our so called Stars.
Theres a good reason Mark Hughes scattered that crock who ended up at the Vic.
New Remit of better recruitment required at Pools.
Like thats ever gunna happen with a Carehome Gaffer running this shitshow.

Swap that for a boring 1 0 wins like Donny away.
Sure AC will agree.

in our position no wins are boring. having to score 3 to gain a point is irratating no matter who scores last goal.

Lacey was annoyingly just starting to play well when his injury came along, he'd just scored two good goals too, much better than what we have atm, with the bad luck we've had this season particularly in central defence if we stay up it will be a miracle. Murray isn't as bad as people on here are making out, is he any worse than our current crop?

I think they both made each other worse--both slow and weak, you can maybe get away with one less physical defender at this level but together they not up to it from a rough and tumble of the division respect, proof again how superficially thought out our recruitment was

good central defenders always go in pairs where one compliments the other. one good, one bad seems to make the better of the twp poor as well.
