Its all about 1 team goin into a major freefall now.
Desperate hope as this squad dosent seem capable of getting 45ish points.

One good thing is there’s quite a few teams having nightmares like is, in fact more than normal.

Case of which team gets the luck with the bobbly pitch. they have drawn a hell of a lot of games so that should be our minimum target. anything more is a bonus. i,ll make sure i have plenty of fags with me for tuesday night if ifollow actually works.

As any Poolie will tell you, it is a bad idea to predict a Pools win against opposition in a run of poor form. I'm predicting a 2-0 win for the Railwaymen.

We usually lose to teams on a bad run, always happens. I'd maybe change it up a bit for Tuesday, if Sterry is out and Hartley is back I'd maybe try

Stolarcyk
Dodds Foran Hartley Ferguson
Sylla kemp Finney
Jennings Umerah Kiernan

Something like that anyway

Cant quite understand why Sylla isn't getting a game even coming on as a sub. Is there anyone who has an idea? Is it it tactical? Has KC fallen out with Sylla? It's beyond me

I do find it confusing, definitely been one of the best players this season, obviously that doesn't take much like!. He offers more than Featherstone has this season, most games he's totally anonymous, he's looking painfully slow now.

I believe the midfield is now our Achilles Heel….not feeding the forwards, toothless, erratic and putting pressure on the defence by not contesting the middle of the pitch…it’s been like that all season, but wasn’t noticed because the defence was so dire, suddenly it’s in the spotlight and the problem is there for all to see.

I like Mo Sylla because he's loves a tackle and pops up all over the pitch - though I'm not sure that last attribute necessarily endears him to coaches! He played his last full game in the 2-0 loss at Gillingham and got on for the second half home to Colchester - another game Pools ended up losing. Might have been worth starting him in midfield yesterday to put his foot in when Sutton came charging off the blocks, but it didn't happen.

In the second half Grey got on for Jenner and Trusty for Featherstone - neither sub did anything to affect the game, but they can be relied on to slot in where they're told to.

Some folk on Twitter asking why Mo's not getting a game in defence - simple answer is he's never played there. If he didn't get tried out as a centre back when Pools were down to a back two of Murray and Ferguson, it's not gonna happen now.

I believe Niang is the lad who can play in defence as well as midfield but he is not even on the bench these days.

Looking at his previous clubs doesn’t fill me with excitement about him,
Pollock, Partick Thistle, Cumnock Juniors (on loan), Montrose (on loan), Alloa Athletic (on loan) ?

was the only pools midfielder to put a tackle in before he was dropped and always put a shift in. not the most positive player going forward but every side seems to have a sylla playing doing the graft
alongside ball players. wonder if there was a fall out after the gills defeat.

There was an interview with Reghan Tumilty in the Irish Times last week after he signed for Hamilton back in the Scottish Championship. Says he went to the English Leagues "to test myself" and admitted it had been an eye-opener.

“I learned to become more physical in tackling. Down there, everyone is definitely a giant, bigger and faster.

“I have taken lots of little bits from there. It didn't go the way I wanted it to go but I have learned a lot, and in my life as well.”

Paterson said something similar when he got signed up back in Scotland.

Think Pools' experience with the Hartley signings has put to bed once and for all the idea that any division in Scotland other than the SPL is better than English League 2. Bottom end of the NL is more the level of the Scottish Championship.

shows when even at the bottom of the SPL players who cannot get regular starts in div.2 become regular starters when they go up there. take the big glasgow pair out of it and it will not be much better than the irish or league of wales. just imagine if our premier league consisted of just the manchester clubs fighting out being champions whilst the rest make up the numbers.

I know you shouldn't judge players too quickly but after our draw with Wimbledon at home in August I said after 45 mins Niang looks way below this level. The odd hard tackle isn't enough.

the most frustrating thing just now is Sylla being out of the side - like how can KC look at his bench and bring on 2 kids ??? Sylla offers a shit tonne more than what they do - Trusty im just lost for words... not what you need when trying to win a game at home. bringing Grey on against Sutton ... there was a reason DC left him out of games like these , it doesnt take a genius to work that out ! i honestly though we where going to get beat when every time Grey just gets knocked off the ball. Hes still a good few years off being a first teamer and had we had the reserve team he would be cooking away nicely in that maybe making the odd cup appearance to help his development.

Niang is just a sunday league player with an engine on him - another of Hartleys " aww he will do"

can only imagine the conversations KC and westy had when they first turned up and seen the shite they had to deal with

anyways - yes we do fall flat on our asses when up against struggling sides but... i think we will have a little bit more than them on the night and should Jennings and Umerah get better service and Umerah take his chances i can see us winning 2-0

Sterry injured (for a change) and Hartley doubtful. Might be a bit of stretch for Crewe not to score.

If you're basing that on the report in the Fail you should realise that Ramage is up to his usual thing of recycling Curle's post-game interview on Saturday. According to the 100% on the ball, never wrong OS:

"Team News

With no new injury concerns after Saturday's game, Keith Curle has plenty of options for Tuesday's fixture. Alex Lacey and Tom Crawford are long-term absentees, and Callum Cooke is still working his way back to fitness, but otherwise, it's a relatively clean bill of health."

So as usual, the truth will emerge an hour before kick-off

Sterry being injured isn’t the end of the world now as it’ll allow Dodds to be in his favoured position from the start and Foran, who was impressive Saturday, to come in.
I’d be more worried if Hartley is still out as Dolan hasn’t been great

afraid Sterry is becoming a luxury player this season as we only get him for the odd game then he is out again. a season he,ll forget as it has not really got going which is a big pity.

Sterry at his best is head and shoulders above other players in this league and the one above for that matter. The only problem this season is that he is hardly ever fit. He plays two thirds fit then drops out for a game or two. It makes you wonder if his body is still up to the rigours of professional football.

Just when you thought the season couldn’t get any worse.

Referee has completely ruined that game. A criminal decision.

Thought it was strange there was less protests from the Pools players. Appreciate he’s not going to change his mind but would have expected to see a few players around the ref given the potential damage that decision could have on our fate. Sterry no stranger to a card, mind, but that is a warning at worst given there is 12 minutes on the clock.

On balance across the season, we cannot be shocked at all when we go down, but tonight’s defeat will leave a sour taste. Was very winnable - even with our usual smash the opposition into submission with long ball tactics.

We need a new gaffer in the National League by the way. The footy is grim, the recruitment hot & cold, the decision making bizarre (he’s just taken our top goal scorer off at 2-0 down)… So yeah, I’m gonna say it… Curle out.

Referee ruined it , the player was causing us NO danger what so ever.
Yes it was harsh, but no need what so ever for Sterry to put his foot in.

At least for the next 3games we will have someone at right back who
Can stop a cross coming in.

By the way Ferguson couldn’t stop a cross coming in to save his life
He’s having a shit season.

Obviously KC will be sacked without compensation by the idiot who claimed he is a lot better manager than legend DC.
What a completely fucked up club Pools are.
I only see the Scunthorpe route now or even worse as Sing must know he cant bullshit the fans or he mirage the club anymore.

Really feel this game sums up our season in a nutshell, the games up I fear.

That straight red was sickening, the speed he gave it shocked me, no real thought, just bang.

A pivotal decision in our season.

Gills go back ahead.

It’s over. As above, the games up. Pools gone and I’m blaming one man. He saved us, but he’s also made an abomination of our return.

From the moment DC left, we’ve been a car crash. Debacle after debacle. Only the Pools fans are deluded enough to cling to some sort of hope.

The reaper is at the door now. Hello National League, we’re back!
