The transfer window, despite the big talk, turned out as anticipated.
A squalid last minute trolley dash around the supermarkets economy line furiously grabbing whatever was left on the shelves before the store closed.
Quality was sacrificed to bulk, another damp squib promise fest which failed to measure up to it’s swaggering patter….the only bright note being we hung onto Josh Umhera.

Maybe your right but am going to reserve judgement until after the Doncaster game. What I do know is that Curle has got to work quick. No excuses now not having to work with the majority of Hartleys team. He needs to work with the best of a bad bunch ( and let’s face it there are not many) and jell with the new fellas almost immediately. We will then see what Curle is really made off. He first needs his new players doing the basics which for some
Reason, many players have failed to grasp. We will now see wether Curle can walk the walk instead of talk the talk. Not had a chance to delve too much in to the characteristics of the new players but like the look of the Arsenal lad.

Counting the players on the OS site there are 40, who ever does the site has added new players but hasn’t removed the ones who are no longer at Pools ?

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be over the moon if we pull it off, but I have serious reservations, but as you say, it’s Curles show now so strap in for the ride…will it fly or fly off the end of the runway…..?

Plenty of options now as far as team selection is concerned, difficult to hazard a guess who will he select on Saturday, the new keeper must be a cert. to start.

10 signings and hardly a goal amongst them. If people are happy with this transfer window then they are easily pleased. Once again in for all these top strikers, what do we end up with stockports 5th choice. We have gone looking for the cheapest we can find. We are in serious bother, we just have to hope we muster our way to 3rd bottom.

again its living in hope some will come off. doubt a single fan is excited about these lads coming in but its too early to judge players we have never seen. know the two who i have look as if we are building a non league side for next season. please, please prove me wrong.

I seriously doubt any of yesterday's signings were our identified targets for the window. Instead Pools are like the unattractive girl at the disco, all the blokes who have failed to pull make a beeline to her when closing time is approaching.

Very underwhelming, just got to hope they can marginally improve the team so we can grab that 3rd bottom spot. But then we will be in same predicament again in the summer.

Time will tell with the new players and how quickly they can settle. Kiernan is a decent player from the times I've seen him, Jennings I feel was a signing made out of desperation and not landing other forward targets, used to be decent but on his way down, can't really comment on foran,Finney or kemp as I don't recall seeing them play. Glad we kept Umerah but definitely disappointed about the striker options, if josh gets injured we will be buggered.

That's a fair assessment. I'll take it as a positive that it ought to be the last time we see the likes of Murray, Hastie and Ndjoli anywhere near the team sheet. On the other hand Keith Curle has nowhere to hide now - lack of options isn't an excuse.

He has got to get his team selections and tactics right and be quick about it. I'd say his job is on the line more now than it was before yesterday. Only 18 games left so he can't afford a couple more bad results.

Curle is not the man to save us from relegation. He is an incompetent buffoon, and with him in charge we are only going in one direction and that is down.

please do not mention the I word as these long term injuries have not helped the position we are in. all teams get injuries but very rarely they end up with only one recognised centre back playing in games. we need luck on this front in the next 3 months as well as players coming off.

It certainly appears to be quantity over quality but, as usual, I'll adopt a wait and see. I still think we'll be favourites for the drop but hope to be pleasantly surprised. Hope is the only realistic stance we fans can take but, once again, our backing is needed as it is the only positive contribution we can offer.

Hopefully these new lads have a bit about them and a different mindset to some of the current wasters. Surely they can't be any worse than the likes of Hastie, Murray, Paterson, Ndjoli etc.

It seems clear that better players don't want to come to Pools at the moment. Is it the wages, location, management, reputation, prospects? The players we were supposedly looking at have gone to clubs higher up the table. We are where we are. Are the players in good enough for survival, only time will tell. At least we have given things a throw of the dice and we haven't sold Umerah. I remain disappointed that the big three local teams have loaned players elsewhere. Were players offered to Pools?

We have been busier than Rochdale, Newport, Harrogate or Crawley. So lets be positive and hope that Curle can pull it off and that the incoming players can gell and give it their all.

Has anybody noticed how Cove Rangers are doing since Hartley moved back there? A pretty obvious connection between how poor his signings to Pools have been. Don't know what to make of all this late transfer flurry. As others have said on here its too early too tell but with the sand rapidly running out of the egg timer. I'm with Splod on this one if I have to take a side and hope it works out. Nothing much else in the armoury is there? One thing aggrieved me a little and that was to think that a player chose Barrow of all places. The best news for me was the fact that big Josh is staying. Maybe he will get the ammunition from midfield that he needs now. As for Featherstone. What's his future? He's been pretty anonymous of late.

Disappointed by a hyped up transfer window, but it’s down to what we’ve got and let’s hope the influx of new faces lifts the lethargy that some resident players have on the pitch
Fingers crossed it works.

I doubt very much Hartley will be sacked as the owner is his father in law.
