I remember a few years back when Darlo had been playing Yeovil and a post match love in erupted on a Darlo messageboard….as both sets of fans got involved in mutual back slapping and general chumminess……enter the fly in the ointment, as a passing Poolie interrupted the festival of joy and started by asking if it was true that Yeovil was so backward it still had public executions….. and it got worse as chaos reigned on their board….. wonder if that was PJ? sctatchinghead

Southgate has decided to stay on which won’t suit some people, he has only won 4 times in 24 games against top 10 ranked teams since he's been in charge ?

No-one else to replace him really if he did go.

Well I guess that's us being "unlucky" at the Euros though I expect all the pundits will be predicting glorious victory. I am hopeful we will win the knee taking cup.

Mr Ozzy, in the ‘Knee Taking Cup’, the ‘Deference League’ and ‘Politically Correct Obedience Division’, we’re the front runners by a country mile to sweep the board and the bookies have stopped taking all bets on them.

The problem with the England team is it's full of Englishmen, whereas all the best English club sides have foreign stars and, apart from Howe, foreign managers. The Prem has never been won by a team of Englishmen never mind an international Trophy. Pep would struggle to win the World Cup with our lot.
What have Howe or Potter achieved in terms of winning trophies.
The Honours board of Englishmen managing a trophy winning England side has one name on it.
That tells you everything.
Even the Lionesses are managed by a foreigner.
Is it time for a rethink.

Haven’t 2 foreign managers been tried before, the F.A.are scared of managers they can’t control that’s why Clough never got the job ?

Well after appointing successive English failures hasn't put them off appointing Englishmen, if the best candidate was a foreigner why not give it another go. We could give the Lady who manages the Lionesses a shot, after all she is the only living person to bring success in an England shirt. We've being trying to replace Sir Alf for around fifty years so what is there to lose.

Southgate is on £5 million a year, not bad for basically what is a part time job.

And even Brian Clough suffered the sack.

Getting sacked as a football manager is a feature of the job. Getting sacked by Leeds set Cloughie up for life. I sometimes think some of them set themselves up for it or that's how it appears. Not suggesting BC ever did that mind.
The shortage of English managerial talent just might have prevented it happening to Southgate........who knows.

there is no shortage of english managers as they rarely get a chance at the top and if they do they get the sack quicker than their foreign counterparts. could be the corses they all go on to get coaching badges that might not help them as many just seem clones of others. it would be hard for cloughie and the harry storers of the past to keep their gobs shut on these courses.

Aye there's plenty of English managers but how many are trusted with managing a top club.
Take Paul Warne, worked miracles at Rotherham and now getting Derby to look something like. He probably wouldn't even get an interview.
How long before Newcastle part company with Howe.
