Copied this from another forum, Don,t know how ture but the source has been reliable in the past.

"I have been told 4 will be leaving, club & players have come to an agreement to terminate contracts, with 7 players coming in.
One of them being Armstrong,as Harrogate are in the shit financially.
Hopefully it'll be Tumilty,Murray (without doubt one of the worst CB's we've had)Paterson & Hamilton.
Ridsdale was at the match Saturday."

No comment on the rumour other than to say it would be great to see Pools do that level of business in January.

Hamilton is on a season-long loan from Livingston so there's no contract to terminate. Keith Curle seems to rate him. Ndjoli never gets any minutes on the pitch even though he's fit, so it would be no surprise to see him leave.

Ridsdale was disqualified as a company director from 2012 to 2020 for transferring £350k from a sports company he owned into his family account before it went bankrupt. Hopefully he was just at the Vic scouting for Preston!

No comment on the truth or otherwise of this rumour but if 7 players are coming in, we'll need to be shot of a few because of FL regulations on squad size. If Tumilty goes we will need another right back because Sterry seems crocked.

There's also the matter of Financial fair play, however much that is?

We could be down to Ten Bob and a big nipper, sorry no kippers.

Hartley blew that on pantomime season.

Which I hope is cancelled this year at the Vic.

Let's face it we need something really dramatic to happen in January. Some of these rumours need to become reality or the misery experienced so far this season will continue, culminating with a swift return to oblivion.
None of us want that but we are where we are and nothing short of the dramatic is going to alleviate our fears.

Rumours or wish lists? Something does need to happen to inspire the fans.

its going to make a difference of avout 1,000 extra turning up or a similar number staying away if the club does not get it right.

How would Harrogate be in the shit financially? They have a multi millionaire owner who didn't give a toss about losing money hand over fist getting into the league.
I doubt he's getting worried now after finally getting where he wanted to be in the first place.
If Armstrong is available then it'll be because it's not worked out for him and they'd rather spend the money on someone else, so it'll either be a loan or a transfer fee involved.
From what I have heard from the person who gave me the info on who Curle was watching a Darlo last week, Pools are offering decent wages but won't spend on transfer fees.

Only passing this on Because the person who posted it Was about 95% correct with the summer signings before they signed.

Rhys Oates' second spell at Pools was far better than his first.

‘Never go back’…. is and old wives tale that obviously may come true sometimes, but is just that, a myth.

I agree.

End of the day (apart from getting dark), if Raj acknowledges he's made a mess of things and releases some money to put it right then that will be credit to him. Everybody fucks up now and again. Only time will tell but rumours are entertaining and they keep the conversation flowing.

i personally think Curle has a wide range of contacts from previous - he will be visiting them first before he brings in any former Pools fan faves

Absolute non story. Armstrong only signed a deal until 2025 back in June.

The league table tells the answer to your quote.

I've said before that I think the buck stops with Raj for the current predicament Pools are in. Where I part company with you and a few others is what he'll do next. Whatever plans he has for the club, taking it back into the National League isn't part of them. I think this transfer window will be a lot different to the last one. Just hope Keith Curle manages to land a decent proportion of his targets - whoever they are.

I think the Armstrong rumour is a distraction……I really can’t see him coming but suspect it’s a placebo to give some people hope.
Nice if it happened, but…..?
Thing is, this transfer window could be the point at which Raj really has to lay his cards on the table and prove his intent. End of.

its not just a case of signing any number of players but bringing them in to play with a number of the current players to make a team. not just 11 individuals running around like headless chickens. how many times after a defeat fans have said how have we lost that. where i doubt anyone would want to see them in a pools shirt.

exactly Accrington !!! KC has put his stall out time and time again with how he sees the transfer window and what is needed within this team... we only see the 90 mins the lads play football on the pitch ... we are clearly lacking some leaders off that aswell as hes mentioned a few times that we need characters and winners in the dressing room - i dont see KC panic buying nor bringing in the wasteful types of Loaness like Taylor.
they have to be better than what we have just now (which wont be too hard). But he knows he needs more than just a 'load' of new players !

i believe he knows what and who he needs and he will have a system that he uses when doing so. His experience of the league etc will pay dividends this time for us.

thats why i have more faith in him than i would with some under 23 coach theory guy or a hartley with no experiance of league 2 football and what is required. if he or someone like him cannot save us no one else can.

It’s got to the stage where I’m watching old games on YouTube, oddly one match that poppped up was the 8-1 tonking of Grimsby. Funnily enough, I recall at the start of the second half we came out 4-0 up and Grimsby scored more or less straight away and a collective groan went round us in the Mill House seats, someone wondered if we’d hold out….I was gobsmacked
Sometimes that Pooly fatalism can go just a bit too far…

The last couple of transfer windows someone throws out a player that were after, tshimanga was one not long back 100k we bid , well in someones fantasy land we did, then we go on to sign no one anyone near that standard. It's a regular occurrence it seems over the last few windows.

one of the reasons i stopped going in the mill house was that. even having a drink before the match started you needed the samaratans hotline listening to the comments many were coming out with. why some actually bother turning up is beyond me when they have abandoned hope before they hear the team selection.
