Anyone care to offer a prediction? With all our most capable defenders injured and only two players who are actually defenders fit to play, it is hard to think of anything other than trying to keep the score to respectable levels. 4-1.

I gather Brody Paterson is available. Phew.

I'll have a pint of what you've 'ad. I can easily believe Pools may not hit the onion bag but the very idea of us not conceding is sheer beer-soaked fantasy.... the best kind.

with the team we will be able to put out i,m sure that nasty fat git steve evans will be rubbing his sausage fingers together in glee to improve their goal difference. think we realistically had a better chance at palace last season than at the overspill f c on saturday.

Unless there are some returning from injury I expect the team to be the same as at Solihull less Lacey who whilst not the greatest of centre backs he’s all we’ve got and nothing to replace him. Also I expect Hamilton to start ahead of Robinson.

lacey went off injured but how bad did it look from someone who was there. will it be a game of damage limitations for us and nothing else. more worried about this game for the future than i was with the leyton orient game.

its not as if he,s style of football is that much different from a few others and available to the rest if they sign thae correct players to play it. its just the man himself with his assistant and their antics on the bench that should be stamped upon. i,m sure it affects many of the child officials ho we all get nowadays where they influence them. i have sat behind them on a couple of occasions and the language used by them is unacceptable. i,d hate to think pools had a manager who saw fit to give a V sign to opposition fans like he did with donny rovers ones years back.

T was at the 6-1 loss total capitulation, and we scored first, left at 4-1 and by the time I got to my car they had scored 6. All we can do is our best and hope lady luck is looling down on us. A 2-2 draw and play similar to as at Mansfield.

I feel your pain. There is nowt so demoralizing as a bloody good hammering. I was at Orient last season when we were hammered 5-0. Gut wrenching, particularly as we travelled with genuine hope following two good results in the lead up. At least with Stevenage no one expects anything.

i,d be happy if we came back losing by 1 or 2 goals only amd not making the goal difference any worse than it is now. that could be important come may.

suppose on his plus side he does show passion unlike some who sit po faced even when their side scores. the suits at the top have take n so much out of the game we knew and passion will be the next thing they,ll go after unless its pre rehersed like goal celebrations.

We never get anything off stevenage at the best of times. Guess we are just looking for some sort of miracle from the team this week.

Stevenage 5 Hartlepool 0

Hope I’m wrong but that starting 11 (and in particular back four) is a concern.

Brave line up, Sylla in defence, and 3 up front, unless Hamilton is playing in defence, or Paterson?

I know what you mean. Fergy in central defence alongside Murray with Paterson left back and Tumulty on the right. What could possibly go wrong?

In typical Pools fashion, we’ve put together a decent 45 mins out of nowhere. How we aren’t winning here, I’ll never know.

Crossbar and Umerah sitter. Need to be taking those.

Killip makes a save all players move up field apart from one who stands in the goal.

Killip rolls the ball forward player comes from behind him nicks the ball and scores.

Stunned. Yet another new way to lose a football match from Pools this season. Genuinely incredible stuff that.

Killip undoes all of the rest of the teams hard work in one fell swoop, the blokes a disgrace, shouldn't be allowed to wear the shirt again.

Killip makes great saves but he also drops monumental clangers from time to time. Luckily the other results went our way today so not much harm done. We were all expecting a hammering so a 1-0 is not a bad result. Just a bit annoying we were just 10 minutes away from a totally unexpected point.

Unfortunately, it is not as if we have another capable goalkeeper waiting in the wings. We are stuck with him.

How stevenage are 2nd is beyond me, they were awful. How our club has been put in this position is nothing but disgraceful. January will come and go and we will hear the same old excuses.

Before the start I pointed out to my friend that Sylla always seems to disappear in the second half and low and behold the Stevenage commentator mentioned this today during the second half.

Exactly but the state of the other keeper means he keeps his place.
Luckily other results went our way.

Even the Stevenage mail said we deserved a point. Surely, if as stated the player was on the goal line and came from behind Killip he must of either been offside and/or interfering with play and it should have been a free kick?

Annoying as it is to throw away a point through a stupid individual error, what happened to the confident predictions that Pools were in for a hammering?

Based on recent results Keith Curle will do for me - and for the players from the look of things. Looking forward to getting a few more back from injury and then the transfer window.

No, no offside. Ball isn’t played forward and also not played by one of the Stevenage’s player’s teammates - both required for offside I think.

Zero public criticism from the manager, which is as it should be.

https://www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk/iFollow/

That said, I'd have odds on a new goalkeeper signing in the window to provide some proper competition for the jersey.

Believe it or not he was inside the net over the line using the side netting and the post to hide from Killip. Quite clever but Killip never looked behind anyway so very easy goal.

Having had time to disect n reflect on yesterdays game.
We lost as a team. Lets not forget the 2 piss easy chances we missed in the first half. Felt a bit sorry for our midfield who put in a Hercules performance.
Anyhow show that fighting spirit game on game n theres every chance we can avoid the drop.

Huge game on New Years Day v Harrogate at a bouncing 5000 + at the Vic.
Solihull on a bad run so fully expecting anutha game with Harrogate.
Keep the faith. UTP.

seen it happen before on the highlights and youtube vids. he must have seen em also so should have taken more care. he,ll still be feeling gutted about it this morning so there is no need for us to have a pop at him. as others have saidm whats the alternative. he has never been my cup of tea since his arrival but to be fair on him eny mistake he does make leeds to a goal and he rarely gets away with a thing.
