Gav to score looks like a banker, will we be lucky to get anything, but being Pools I'll go for 2..1 to us. UTP.
Next up in League two at home for us ...Stockport Dec 3rd. I don't even want to think about that

The Stockport match will be like a black hole of football. :o
I never realised there’d be no footy because of the World Cup I won’t be watching  Surely not, what’s it got to do with us at our level?

surely the thought of watching millionaires strutting their stuff listening to garry and the experts thinking up knew sayings about players posotions on the pitch like false number 9 crap will get you stuck to your seat in admiration for all thats good in the game. remember now we,ll have loads of lasses to listen to as well as stale old males. cannot wait after they tell us all to follow the 3 lions and all thats good about the game.

have two away games in November in League 2, there's also the possibility of a home game of we get a draw in the , FA cup at the moors.  sorry can't help but laugh at that, the way things are.

There's also the 2nd round on the 26th.

I'm in total agreement. Southgate is a political activist who dabbles in football management. The England football team don't seem to like their supporters as it appears they believe we are all racists. We all know England have no chance, anyway. This is the first World Cup I have felt so indifferent towards.

It clearly isn't 'just you' but I doubt that it's a majority opinion even on this board.

Personally I've been an England fan since Alf Ramsey, 1966 and all that. Disappointing results for the national team are water off a duck's back - I'm an expert in supporting teams that fail. Watching the best players in the world battle it out in a World Cup is never a chore - though the farce of playing the tournament in November after fatty Blatter and co. lined their pockets (again) is a disgrace.

I've given up on predicting the unpredictable but reckon Grimsby will bring around 523.

I was a great England fan and you mention Alf Ramsey and his players who could be related to, but over say the past 10 years I realise I now have a problem relating to the whole England set up….I’d also like to political gestures kept out of the game.

Two league games, then 2 FA Cup games if we get to round 2. When I saw fixture list at beginning of season I thought it was a printing error. But they had left the FA cup dates out.

back in 1966 the players were more likeable as if you met em in the street they would speak. not that much of a gulf between them and div.4 players we saw weekly. nowadays there is no comparison. miserable looking lads getting off the coach with earphones trying there best to ignore fans apart from the foreign ones that look more approachable. then there is southgate and their main fan. lord garry of golden wonder who are as woke as anyone could be. no interest for me apart from wanting to see em turned over by someone and then i,ll watch the highlights.

think he,ll get a very mixed reception because so many forgot what he did for the club and can only remember him leaving. actually still got his signed shirt from years back thats looking for a new home.

Obvious The Hooligan would score. Put a quid on him first goalscorer at 10/1 plus Pools to win 2-1 and also Pools to win with both teams scoring. Early days yet mind.

I wish I could say I was shocked and surprised but the defeat was nailed on anyway and very often, returning players score against their old club.

This Hartlepool team would be bottom four of the national league. Pools are truly awful. Grimsby must be worried too if they can only beat us 1-0.

I did watch the rest and obviously the win is very welcome but let’s not pretend it was anything but dire. Its a classic ‘result more important than performance’ scenario.

Yeah great result, does not matter about performances right now, need to be within touching distance when January window opens and hope Raj can at least sort out the defence.

A win and get in there! But Mr I, I’m with you.

The only goals we had in the team, Holohan, Molyneux, Bogle are gone. The defence. Well, that’s that.

DC papered the cracks upon our league 2 return, but now we see the real Hartlepool United. A massive relegation fight ahead. A step in the right direction today but those hanging their hats on January may be mistaken. We can only live in hope.

What other option is there than January ? Realistically it’s our okay hope, pick up enough to stay in touch the strengthen considerably in Jan
Might not happen but what other hope do we have ?
