Would be good to have a Danger Man or This Man Is Dangerous. even Once A Sinner would do.

Maybe he's gone to the real Alamo, it's probably safer.

Becoming another Kilroy. I believe there have been sightings but not in Throston Bookies where there are permanently staked watchers.

We’ll have to put ‘Wanted!’ posters up…failing that organise a ‘Maguire Watch’ a bit like bird watching or dolphin spotting off the breakwater.

Surely the club should tell us:
Has he actually signed
Is he injured/fit
Are there any FA restrictions due to the investigation
Is he being paid to sit around
If none of these reasons stand up then get him in the team or explain please, what has happened to the transparency promised.

I thought that Maguire had been suspended by Lincoln which means he was still on their books if true he was not a non contracted player who could be signed outside the transfer dead line. Maybe that is the problem.

jon.."I thought that Maguire had been suspended by Lincoln which means he was still on their books if true he was not a non contracted player who could be signed outside the transfer dead line. Maybe that is the problem."

..correct..reckon lincoln would have had no alternative but to suspend him..but although he had another year left on his contract and could just have sat back and waited till it was all sorted out he decided to leave by mutual consent..then rocks up at our place and signed on the dotted line..but ooooh errrr..did nobody check at our end with the efl as to whether he is allowed to play any games while under investigation for betting offences?..and with the fa when the investigation was likely to be concluded?...or if it had even started?....surely not ???..but like you say..presumably he couldn't be transferred while under contract and suspended for a betting offence?..so had to leave lincoln by mutual consent after the window closed and then sign for us....but is that breaking the rules? ..whatever surely it needed checking before he signed the contract with us which the club now seem desperate to get out of???...absolute shambles...

Not sure why your having a go at Curle (will be plenty of time for that most likely after Friday) but it’s a situation he inherited

Based on what I read sounds like club offered some sort of pay as you play deal contingent on suspension and the pfa/efl want something more concrete so we are steering clear until that’s sorted

..correct..very premature ...you didnt wanna do that...also....you didnt wanna sign a player when the rules are hes not allowed to play any football..cos that would mean you paying him wages for not playing...and that would be a waste of money... especially when he would be the clubs top earner...and the club don't want to waste any money ..so no...you didnt wanna do that either..

Where does it say he is our top earner? Have you seen the club accounts? The contract itself?

not many 2nd division players around at pools as well. noy one for stats, but take featherstone out of it the whole squad will not have many between em all. the whole thing behind the signing looked far too good to be true with the culture around the club at the time.

You wouldn’t like it Kevin, it’s all clouds and harps and God walking past you seeing if you’re being good….but on the plus side……. You’d still go to Pools every week and win every game 36-0, the catering magnificent, free drinks, shirts still late , but after a few thousand years the thrill would be gone and you’d longing for the bad old days for a change….. and worst of all the message board would be like a Cliff Richard concert with Sussex in charge where everyone always agreed and God was the moderator.
Hell might be more fun.

You can challenge the decision Mr D, but I’d advise strongly against it……imagine, you’re walking down the street and lightning bolts are flying towards you not to mention the mandatory plague of locusts, they’ll play havoc with your Aspidistra’s. Forget it!!!!

Funny isn't it when we sign non league players or Scottish players you can't say they have come on the cheap. Chris Maguire comes but your allowed to say he is on good money. How do we know? Maybe he is just desperate for a club?

No one knows, I suspect people assume they are, but if I had a contract I’d want to keep it quiet.

I’m guessing that you’re guessing that he’s guessing, so I guess you’re both guessing about each other’s guesses and trying to outguess each other with your guesses…. I guess.

Right lets sort it out. We need a lengthy and legally watertight disclaimer paragraph that can be added to every single post.... in the interests of being careful, so nobody gets accused of guessing or claiming to have inside knowledge of the club. Obviously starting posts with "I reckon" or "I think" ot "in my opinion" or words to that effect isn't clear enough.

If you don't use your disclaimer then you get belittled, mocked and you and your opinion generally dismissed.

Follow the rules and exeryone can be civil.

My only ever gripe was anybody’s ‘guesses’ about the finances, simply because no one will ever know the full picture apart from Raj. Speculation then became ‘fact’ to some people.
Now I’m not saying anyone was wrong…… it just could never be proved.
Even if we ever get a insanely generous new owner who’s actually incontinent with money and grants our wishes, we’ll still be in the dark.

The only thing about finances we actually have an idea about and even thats a rough estimate as well, is the amount the club brings in on matchdays depending on the size of the crowd given out and the half time draw.

Only problem with that is some people take a rough cash figure and multiply it by the attendance and forget to subtract the season ticket holders, which is already banked.
