I know it's only Wednesday but Iv'e kind of become a little less depressed at what was happening on the pitch and another individuals behaviour on here to whom I can't be bothered to engage with, so let's try and get back to a better Bunker after all we are all supposed to want the same thing, aren't we?

Pools 2 Gillingham 1

Crowd 4,500

I will be optimistic and hoping for an attendance of around 5000 to welcome the new management team, result, a win.

I know it's only one game but it is a very significant one game, as expressed by Mr Sweeney in his Morecambe post match interview. I'm sure Tony will have the lads fired up and ready.
We need to lay down a marker as to where we're intending to rank in this league as against the opposite of continuing to be classed as whipping boys.
I won't predict as I don't want the horse to run on three legs.

I have absolutely no idea. Pools are the usual enigma.

I'm with Accrington and dare not tempt fate.

There appears to be a fair bit of "anti manager" down in Kent with suspicions that he could be gone pretty quickly.

Chairman been there since 1995 (paid £1 for Club) but has gone through several Managers in that time.

Not a lot of difference in this seasons record but with the added bonus (?) of KC would hope for a win but with a pretty low score, say 2-1

If we cant beat Gillingham not sure where we go...though they are likely thinking the same about us.

1-0 win if we play Sterry, Ferguson and Niang/Sylla at the back
1-0 Defeat if we stick with Patterson, Tumilty and Murray

Think they will be a bit like us at colchester where a point gained on the road can be viewed as a good result no matter when the equaliser did come. If that happens then we,ll feel its 2 points dropped and a shit result.

Didnt realize they had only scored twice this season....maybe a 0-0 is nailed on--though their inability to score may be no match for our inability to defend if the same players are rolled out again!

Assume Sterry injured again given not on bench, and clearly a wrong decision to bench menase and keep the chuckle brothers , also don’t know how Shelton starts in front of Cooke but at least sylla starting
will see how it goes but less optimistic than before I saw the starting line up

Cooke left the field clutching his knee, could be precautionary cos we all know how serios knee injuries can be.

Early days but pretty abject so far
One good tackle from Murray and one piece of fannying about from McDonald which wasted a chance

Just a quick bout of pissing on chips.

Rochdale are winning away, we are bottom of the league, say we are bottom of the league.

Looking like we'll be bottom of the table unless we can nick a late one. Colchester just missed a penalty so 1-0 to Rochdale.

Want to see how they do against Mansfield , gillingham v poor,
Murray had his best game in fairness but easier against a team with no attack

Think we need to find a way to play Sylla, Cooke and Odour together in midfield, and McDonald has raw talent but needs coaching

I really can’t see how we stay up with the current defence though unfortunately

It’s pretty irrelevant now how nice the football is, it’s all about 3 points. Could have won today but I think a draw was probably a fair result, definitely wasn’t a game that a neutral would have enjoyed watching, let alone fans of either team. Somehow still not cut adrift

Agree entirely shocking game with poor non league players on both sides.
After 7 minutes 2 balls went over the stands which sums it up.
KC has a hell of a job on his hands the players are terrible.

Why were we playing three centre backs against the worst scoring team in the league?
Why did we allow Ferguson to take almost every set piece?
Why does Shelton get picked ahead of Cooke? Or anybody else for that matter.
Other than one piece of magic just before half time, why does McDonald need to do half a dozen step overs rather than just play a simple pass/cross?
Who decided to play Sena at the back rather than midfield?

If Hartley picked that team he’d have been slaughtered.

Me & Mr Loyal obviously watching different games !
Don't think I've seen Cooke look up to it in the few games I've seen. ( Made him Bradford's MOM when we played them a few weeks back). Hamilton has promise, I think. Looks ok in the air & puts himself about a bit.
I feel sorry for the bunch of Scots who came down from Glasgow; but I did warn them before we got in the ground !

All about opinions, just feel Cooke is one of the few players who looks to do something with the ball when he gets it
There’s an footballer in Hamilton but he’s not fast and he’s lightweight which is a bad combination in this league

McDonald and ndojie look like they have been
Signed based on a YouTube video, flashes of skill there but sporadic and need to be better at the basics

I saw some improvement in attitude and commitment. We could have won the game. Couldn't have expected much more given the run we have been on and 3 days with a bee management team. Clean sheet is a positive.

for me we wasted the first half with some dreadful passing which i suppose will be glossed over because it was not a hartley team. things improved in the second half but not helped by an overfussey referee. one of those games that i suppose would look good on a 15 minute maximum highlight video for pools and my highlight was that we looked stronger than they did at the final whistle.

thats the luck you get when you are near the bottom. if we were at the top the defender would have been a foot the other way and the ball would have been in the net. it wasn,t brilliant defending, just being in the right place at the right time.

Looking at the league table we are only 3 points behind Stockport, 4 behind Walsall who started the season on fire so all is not lost. Mind you I would take a point at Mansfield all day though I can't see it happening.

At the moment I feel that teams are confident to come out and attack us and have no fear in doing so. If we adopt the tactics of knocking aimless balls into the oppositions half, which we did quite a lot yesterday, we will be under the cosh and therefore have to be brilliant, lucky or a combination of both to get something at Mansfield. We got three good chances yesterday, and failed to convert. I think we will find it difficult to keep a clean sheet, so to come away with something we need to score and maybe more than once. I've got a lot more hope than confidence that we can do that. sadx
