These are quotes from pools fans on another forum, And if true.
I think its best he leaves now.

"I'd heard that Hartley and the analyst fell out a while ago when the data bloke suggested we're not fit enough. He's been liking tweets from fans pointing out the exact same thing. Has the penny finally dropped after wasting pre season and 20% of the fixtures so fa"

"And if you don't like it you can fuck off' is the rest of that conversation apparently and some players did just that."

"I’d heard when PH came in, he wanted rid of all the “fancy modern day tech” and said we are going to do it the old fashioned way.

Worked wonders so far as players haven’t got past 50th minute without being dead on their feet so far."

‘I’d heard’…… tells me all I need to know. Not confident enough to state it as fact. Rumour mill in gear.

When somebody within earshot says something, the person hearing what that person has said is entitled to share by stating " I heard". That in no way shape or form constitutes that what he heard was, is or will be the truth.

Could be some truth in it.
Yesterdays photos of the players is the first time I've seen them wearing fitness trackers in training.

Really? Care to remind us which ones he got right? All the transfer rumours I recall seeing on here over the summer were absolute bollocks.

He does come across as having v strong opinions, he quotes around Scottish players having nothing to prove in an English league is looking particularly foolish

Hartley was a desperation appointment (a la Graeme Lee) after nobody decent would touch us with a barge pole. Our reputation goes before us. Wouldn't be too bad if we just went straight to the bottom of the barrel but we waste weeks chasing pie in the sky managerial targets while other clubs build their squads.

If that’s the case, we’ll never get a manager then.

This is the great conundrum, who the hell is advising Raj, I suspect he’s not picking them surely.

I think Challinor was a chance appointment that turned out well, but Lee no chance, this is where it all goes off course.

we are no different to other struggling clubs in the past with poor reputations. was the job anyway advertised till all interested parties could apply. do know as a fact that when this was done shit clubs got about 30 sensible applications from people in the game after they through out those from fans and idiots. looking at hartleys CV he looked a good appointment at the time. think this is the annoying part where our present form would have been expected with another local kids manager appointment.

I disagree. We are finding that we ARE different to other clubs. There is something wrong with the way we are making appointments and our top targets (which should be realistic) are turning out to be overambitious for us for some reason. Hartley did NOT look good on paper. He wasn't what we were crying out for even back when Lee was appointed. We're still waiting for someone like that.

DC was a really good signing on paper too. Raj has said he was excited when he heard DC was available and that's because he came to the same conclusions that we all did. Of course it could have gone wrong but it was a mega sensible appointment. I haven't seen that same good logic applied for the last two appointments.

Raj has always been a disaster picking managers,
Barring Challinor, you have to come to the conclusion he is taking terrible advice

You are a hard taskmaster! 5 promotions with 4 clubs all of whom went backwards after he left.

Fair enough a little gamble that he didn't understand the English to Scottish level difference. Whether that is why we have a weaker squad or due to lack of resources being provided for wages who knows.

The tactics are the worrying thing. I watched Middlesbrough last night and they said they have the majority of possession in all games this season and couldn't understand their low points. Possession is easy as we have shown, we also have large amounts but with Umerah virtually helpless in the box we will not be scoring many goals except set pieces.

Rather a big gamble. With our limited means, we need no nonsense players who know the division. We also need the same type of manager. DC was that type. There are others.

Hartley achievements in Scotland should have been looked at in context, basically most clubs are part time and he was very well backed. 10 teams in a league was there much competition? Similar to the fella from Wales where they basically only had to turn up to win the league.

Singhs track record at Darlo in 3 seasons….
Colin Todd sacked
Steve Staunton sacked
Simon Davey, couldn’t wait to get away
Ryan Kidd, lasted a week before quitting

That’s all in one season.

Next season and a half…..
Mark Cooper sacked
Craig Liddle caretaker before and during administration

So in all that time we had one successful manager who then got the sack a few months after the FA Trophy win.
His track record at choosing managers is poor to say the least. He’s picked one good one for you so far and he was away first chance he got.

In the initial stages I always defended Hartley, new squad etc but I am having my doubts now irrespective of where the players come from. He was told his budget which doesn’t appear to have been a play off budget which Singh promised, you can’t make a silk purse out of a pigs ear. Whilst I am ever grateful for Singh saving Pools he needs to get his head into gear and sort it out one way or another.

It's not just managers that seem to want away from a raj run club, very few players and staff seem to want to hang around.

I dunno, the names that have been mentioned during the last 2 recruitments were suitable IMO. Wilde and the Bromley fella spring to mind. I suspect they were primary targets. Raj needs to sort out whoever and whatever is making us have to resort to proper gambles.

No he needs to realise that when you pay peanuts you get m*****s!
Staff won’t work for similar terms and conditions he pays staff in his Care Home business.

I don't know if this is true. If it is the terms we are offering then that's one of the changes we must make.

Have you knowledge of The prestige Group's pay structure or the Salaries paid to the Football club's staff or are you making assumptions or even making it up.
I have been supporting the club since 1952 and the only contract I have ever seen between the club and a player was the one Kenny Johnson was given in 1949 because he showed it to me years later.

To be fair, nobody really knows the wage structure at any club but one can make a good stab at who does have the smaller budgets and the big bucks from other indicators.

Why would I make it up, Care Home staff are in general paid the minimum wage, if Nursing Staff are employed that will be inline with the NHS pay structure.
He obviously isn’t paying the playing staff top dollar judging by the players who have left. none have moved up a league and some have reverted to the National League.

If you have a smaller budget, you are where you are. Doesn’t mean with shrewd management you can’t build a team. Big spenders don’t always come up smiling.
It’s getting the right manager…. if only it were that easy.

You mean what Barrow did.

Got the right manager in
Had an interview at Pools if memory serves me well.

It’s history now Imp, I’m disappointed but when they have to go they have to go let’s see how it goes.
No experiments please, someone to steady the ship and whip the crew into some sort of shape.

It’s history now Imp, I’m disappointed but when they have to go they have to go let’s see how it goes.
No experiments please, someone to steady the ship and whip the crew into some sort of shape.

That's a tall order - half of this crew get seasick while they're still in port. Loan Star was right when he said Pools need a Cyril Knowles type.

Any new manager worth his salt will tell Raj he needs to be able to look at the free agent market to make temporary repairs to the defence. That shouldn't be a problem as I suspect Raj had already decided to cut his losses with any more Hartley signings.

He'll also need the leeway to make signings in January - starting with the loan market, so Taylor and Hamilton will need to go back to their clubs early.

I once heard a Shackleton aircraft described as 20,000 rivets flying in loose formation…. They aren’t even in formation.

No he needs to realise that when you pay peanuts you get m*****s!
Staff won’t work for similar terms and conditions he pays staff in his Care Home business.

Why would I make it up, Care Home staff are in general paid the minimum wage, if Nursing Staff are employed that will be inline with the NHS pay structure.
He obviously isn’t paying the playing staff top dollar judging by the players who have left. none have moved up a league and some have reverted to the National League.

So you don't know what the players get payed and ARE therefore making assumptions.
And as you now state that care home staff in general get paid the minimum wage, so if Raj pays his care home staff minimum wage he is paying them the going rate, is he not. Like wise you suggest his professional nursing staff will get the going rate. So he is inline with the rest of the industry, is he not.
Therefore it is logical to assume that, if you are right, and that it is Raj's policy to pay the going rate, what is the going rate for staff employed in EFL 2??? What is Raj paying??? What is deemed as peanuts??? Then we will have a clear picture, won't we???
You are the one making the comparisons and assumptions, so hows about putting some meat on the bones and therefore prove to all that you are not simply making it up.
I'll be the first to believe you if can do that.

Barrow AFC fan in peace. We had a tumultuous start back in League two after decades away. I think our main problem was not understanding how big a step up it was from non league. On reflection our boards choice of manager was very suspect as we have virtually only barely survived. What has happened to change our fortune was to go with a manager with a blatant desire to manage our team to new heights as well as improving his cv. Pete Wild took Halifax into the play offs and then we swooped, what this guy has done to our team and some of the contracted players is beyond belief, we are still in shock after our start this season. Our previous manager that led us back into the football league was Ian Evatt. What these two people had in common was their drive to prove themselves at a higher level. This to me is the type you require but as you probably have guessed are a very rare commodity and arguably a bit of a gamble. I truely hope that you get the manager to turn your season around as I’ve enjoyed many visits to your ground through the years and who will ever forget Richard The Lionheart taking over my home town one summers day. Best of luck (except when you play us).

And suddenly all those quotes seen to make sense. If memory serves me correctly, they were stated by someone close to current and ex playing staff. The "if you don't like it fuck off" thing is 100% true.

He never ever had the attitude, warmth or drive to take us anywhere. Its challenging to find anything positive to say about him.

Cheers. Hope Pete Wild keeps it going for you - if Barrow finish above Stockport and Salford there'll be no complaints on this forum

Really Jamie, maybe you are not as clever as you portray Yourself.
Oh and I agree your reply is a tired answer but a classic reply of someone who has lost it.
Chuck the shovel away mate.

then they,ll have a problem as pete wild will be picked up by a so called bigger club and barrow will be back in the shit like pools are post challinor. its the way of football for clubs like us and barrow. get a shit manager and they,ll be sacked. get a good one and they,ll quickly be off to pastures new. the other alternative is a mid table ship steadier where the modern fan quickly looses patiance even with that because their club is not a promotion challenger.
