Many will disagree & say he doesn't now score enough goals, but he's a workhorse & will create plenty of space for any other striker we get on the books. I expect that PH will get the best out of him, & back to the regular scoring he achieved in his first spell with us.

Probably my favourite Pools player after Ernie Phythian, so can we have him back please - & bring Simmo along too

3 League goals in 2 seasons at Barrow. Work rate isn't enough when there's no end product. He'd be a good signing for Gateshead or York.

I wouldnt be surprised if it was York or South Shields - York seem to sign 3 new players everyday - definitely one to keep an eye on next season

York….just won’t be the same without Bootham Crescent if they got promoted.

Agree he could be a decent addition maybe not a starter always but a good squad player.
Lets face it we aint got 11 yet!

Bet Barrow are pleased to get him off their books. To say I’d be disappointed if he comes back is putting it mildly. By the way I believe Simmo has left Barrow.

Whoa, he’s been here more times than the postman….. wonder why he and Barrow parted company. Now that would be of interest.

He lives in Northumberland so he probably has an offer nearer home (hopefully not pools) and Barrow want him off the payroll because hes not good enough.

Spot on Richi. Travelling to Barrow is a lousy journey. I said this when Simmo went there maybe that’s why he’s left if that is correct

Simmo has definitely left Barrow. It was on his Twitter feed a week or two back.

Mark Simpson, Pools & latterly Barrow's Media Manager

James signed a new contract in February which would have kept him at Barrow until June 2023. They have since changed managers twice, & have recently entered into a multi-year agreement to use a training base in Salford !

Salford??? Oops, that’s where the players will be from. Imagine, the only time the team turns up in Barrow is for home games.

Yes, i found it strange even though Barrow is more out on a limb than Hartlepool

Regular down there and drive from M6 down to Ulverston and turn down to coast road in Ulverston, but it’s a pig of a road at times. I never understood why it wasn’t widened with the BAE nuclear submarine facility based there.

if you travel north to barrow like i do it seems a bigger ball ache than it actually is. you travel for miles north of barrow to eventually turn south and west to get there. like coming to pools up the A1, going past the sunderland turn off and eventually turn off to travel back down the coast road. this is the reason they have based their training in the labcashire area for years now just to aid recruitment.
