Am I right in saying Pools return today for pre season training with a total of twelve outfield players! Actions must now speak louder than words and stat getting players in. Within a week they are due to go on the training camp in Portugal. Also what has happened to our media manager no information from the club to speak of I much preferred Mark Simson to the current guy. Please do not piss Paul Hartley off before he even gets started.

Probably got the smallest squad in the league apart from Derby.
Still 5 weeks 5 days to go.

The fact Barrow and Carlisle have signed more players than us and also found them selves in similar scenarios with no manager etc (Barrow) speaks volumes - we are in the same place as last season - no blaming late finishes now etc - albeit we have a full strong pre season planned which is much better than last - and the lads are back earlier for the preseason. We have a GK/Coach in and thats it - The 2 best players we ideally needed to sign on are still undecided and Timi looking likely to Join Bradford with our mate Chapman (thats a signing and a half btw). Also Tom Allen signs for Gateshead (another player i feel we should of had a look at).

No doubt there will be trialists through the door today and joining the lads in the camp - PH did state there would be new faces come the Portugal trip.

Im seeing Leigh Griffiths is now being linked with us - 31 and still getting in the national team - we have signed worse in the past and id hardly say at 31 hes a journeyman either.

How do you know we haven’t looked at Allen? Just looked at his record and nothing there to suggest we look at him. As for Chapman, record very similar (without injuries) as Morris but has not realised his potential.

When Challinor left I heard Kyle and Hignett on Tees. Hignett said the budget was up there for the league and the chairman was ambitious but does things his own way. We will have one of the best budgets in the league and a new management team who have targets identified. Nothing dodgy.

I am not a prophet of doom and would dearly love Pools to do well. However i will continue to point out if I feel matters are being done wrongly or not at all. Despite what you say I will not reveal my club source for any information except to say it is a strong connection. My comment about Paul Hartley was meant as you have appointed him now let him do his job.

One of the features of a message board is to have conflicting views, ever considered a North Korean message board, it may just fit you down to the ground, everyone nodding approval at your posts…that’s if you’re on the right side of course… Personally I like a good clean series of verbal blows, far more democratic.

The absolute irony from Snowy, the very person who does his very best to stifle any other narrative than his own by discrediting, belittling and attempting to humiliate posters who express a differing view point. You have time and time again effectively called people liars, including myself. This is what happens in countries like Russia and happened in North Korea. The only reason it stopped in Korea was because they shot all those who didn't toe the line.

cannot get overexcited at the monment. so long to go before the season starts. possibly if pools had brought in 4 or 5 already there will be some saying why so early and the club have been in too big a rush to sign these lads as they think there is better out there without clubs. more interested in the line up for the first game than any lack of activity now.

...a sensible reasonable perspective..1st game 30th july....and the transfer window is open till 1st september...plenty of deals to be done in the meantime..but wonder is there a time limit on the deals offered to timi mols and the supercrock as their current contracts terminate 30th june ?..

a quick answer is no. there are some at least as good out there who actually want to be at the club. its just getting the right ones and a deal for them. the club is not going to get a penny for those anyway who have not re signed, so give em a date mid july to re sign and after that date tell em to f off.

that would depend on how much ambition the club has unless its a really stupid inflated offer someone has made. otherwise i,d prefer him to stay till january to see where we are in the league.

During the close season Pools appointed a manager who knows the Scottish leagues. They have a Head of Recruitment who presumably has a load of recommendations about players in the English leagues. We don't know know what's going on behind the scenes but there are no reports of Pools having offers for players turned down. I assume that Hartley, Young and Trotter are taking a bit of time to sync up their ideas about what the squad needs and who is available that might fit the bill.

If Molyneux or Odusina or both decide in the meantime that they like what they've seen of the new management team and that it would be in their best interests to sign a new contract with Pools, so much the better.

Thankfully Sterry is a home bird - hence why he chose Pools and stayed with us as at the time it was public knowledge that other league clusb where looking for his signature - he quickly proved to us all that yes his ability lied further up the football pyramid - thankfully for us though hes had a bairn and wants to stay with his family.

dont quote me on this but unless a championship sized club who where willing to relocate him and his fam for big bucks then i cant see him leaving (or he moves to Sunderland haha) - the lad rumoured to be coming in is merely back up and may also be utilised as a winger - we know the flexibilty PH likes to adopt to his team - this is simply another weapon in the arsenal should formation demand it. thats my thinking anyways.
