Could be that Wild is thinking a 2 year contract at Barrow will get honored while a 2 year contract at Pools could end at 5 months
3 weeks
6 days
23 hours
59 seconds.
Add in the promise of a excellent budget that is just shitcrack then its a nobrainer decision.

Barrow had the same amount of managers as us last season. Apparently they have a top 10 budget though and pay good wages (don’t think that will ever catch on).
Imagine if we were in for Wild then the fact Barrow train in Manchester rather than having to commute to Durham could’ve played a part but as a football club if we’re losing out on targets to Barrow somethings wrong.
Obviously all hearsay and we might not have been interested but he was my choice. Interested to see who comes in now

I’m pretty sure this is just the Mail using quotes from the final game of the season to pretend they have news to report on.
At least that’s what I’m hoping…

I said this at the start of last season we needed to take advantage of the feel good factor, only at pools could a feel good factor go within a few days. It did but then once the season kicked off we got it back, the atmosphere the home wins, then the cup runs.

The utterly bizarre decision to appoint two lads with horrendous win records was nothing short of crazy, and cheapness. Will we recover enough for this season? the club has been on some sort of charm offensive over the last weeks, which is great and nice to hear what's happening. But the major things are totally left behind. The new redevelopment, which we got told wasn't all pie in the sky still after 3 years nowhere near, we are now resorting to changing the seats, which probobly tells us it ain t happening.

The manager situation once again a running joke how long it takes. We waited ages last time and got an April fool's joke landed on us. Then we have some computer guy basically picking the team before a manager even rocks up. The poor new manager is now left with a pretty dodgy keeper a midfielder that no one has seen and a forward line that would struggle in the conference North, then when he arrives he will probobly get the exciting news two of the best players and probobly our only creative player is off too.

Oh and by the way new manager that meagre budget that Dave Challinor got last year will be slashed, because those ungrateful fans have decided not to buy season tickets at 340 a pop and some clueless fool has decided to have a may 31st deadline, without a manager and any players.

We are playing wise run like a team with 1200 fans in the 80s, I'm not sure they can keep running it like it is and expect 5000 to turn up.

the club will get shit from some no matter who they go for if we do not start well next season. everyone has their own prefarance for the person or type of person they want. just because we end up with a reletevly unknown from non league does not show lack of ambition. neither does getting a big name at the club shows its ambitious either.

well if barrow have a top 10 budget then they must have wasted it. saw both of their games v pools last season and it would have been hard to pick any of their players to do a job for pools even their keeper. they have trained away from barrow for years now as they see it aiding recruitment of players who only see the town on matchdays. possibly in the future pools will put a plan Y into place and end up training in leeds for similar reasons. agree about wild as he would have been my choice as well.

Wild basically pulled a part time team together and got them in the top 10 three times. On another planet to Lee and Nelson.

if he gets barrow in the top 10 next season he will not be there long as another bigger NW team will be in for him. thats the problem, good ones leave as quick as bad ones get the sack.

Very highly regarded though. Notts played good football under him too. Fits Forest Green perfectly - might eat my words - but he'll be a success.

Whoever Pools do finally appoint as manager, the announcement will include the time honoured phrase, "He was always our number one target."

Paul who?
Pete who?

If it's Micky I'm not renewing my season ticket.

So now this is the second time in a year that we have lost out to a lower team when it comes to a manager
first Stockport now Barrow three if you count Hartley who did not fancy it. Why ? is it wages, length of contact or wages and playing budget. It could also be interference from above. Players being scouted without managers say so, pre aranged trip to Portugal and pre season planned out by someone else does this mean that any prospective candidate will be put off joining us?

Surprise choice.....

I'm going this recruitment bloke is going to be given a go.
He's vast knowledge of who's out there and already been working on the squad.

No connection whatsoever. Lee was sacked for being shite. Are you seriously suggesting for a second we keep a manager for the full term of a contract no matter how badly they perform?

It ‘s Challinor al over again, but done the right way for him personally. He’s stayed local in the North West and given a choice between travelling up here he did what was logical in my eye. Was he the Messiah? I doubt it , just someone we didn’t sign, if indeed we ever were, but promoted in some people’s eye’s to the a lost opportunity. It’s impatience talking.

Ya bang on Snowy.
Lee was shite.
But lets not forget the decision to give him the job in the first place was even more Shite.
Now we getting knock backs from the lower scales of the football pyramid.
Apart from Mowbray the other rumours/candidates have been totally underwhelming.
Like Billy Poolie says we being run like a 1200 fans club.
Would like to hear Eddie Kyles view on radio tees about this shitshow.

got to pinch myself to realise pools are still not in the dark days of sub 2,000 crowds. as far as gates are concerned many at our level would give there right and left arm for the gates pools get that would even go up if we were at the top end of the table. all we can do is guess at the situation as really we know sod all. if the club are still struggling financially due to paying money back then lets have the full truth about it. would save fans being anoyed and walking away because they have the wrong agenda. always prefer to know the truth about anything than just guessing.

Michael Parkinson has more chance…if he’s still alive that is. Although death shouldn’t prove insurmountable and Nelson is still walking the corridors.

Parkinson would fit a triple of ex National League Managers who competed in the play offs and all lost and moved on to Football League Clubs;
Wild from Halifax to Barrow
Burchnall from Notts County to Forest Green
Parkinson from Wrexham to Pools????

Sometimes it’s touching, yet naively comical how every time a manager even sh*ts they are immediately associated with us, but in a masochistic…… ‘but he’ll sign for someone else’ way….as though things going tits up are reassuring.
If my memory serves me well the clamour started after Lee went and wish list’s were flourished and a desperation arose in certain quarters to grab the first one passing by and it’s been a scramble to get someone in in as soon as possible ever since, coupled with a depressing, wrist slashing inevitability we’re gonna sign someone crap, rays of sunshine don’t shine through in some people’s world.
Like released players, we’ve been associated on here with everyone released, even some released from HMP Parkhurst on the Isle of Wight wouldn’t surprise me.….. as long as it’s got a ‘released’ label on it it’s back.
I’d like to see someone in, but my boxer shorts aren’t self combusting in rage because we haven’t.

John Askey is another hitting the rumour mill floor today - may of also heard it over the weekend at the younguns football.

has the pedigree and experience at this level - done a grand job down at York

Would he be just another manager though to tick us along - need someone like Artell with a bit of attitude about him.

i was going to use the words "someone to get some fire into this team" but what team... the 11 that start our first game of next season i can see being a hell of a lot different than it is now - albeit we luckily still have our wingbacks ... but thats all i can imagine starting come start of season with a new man on board - maybe a Bogle and Feaths too.

just waiting for the announcement of Nelson has left the building - followed by here is your new manager and backroom staff !

I thought it was a requirement of the board to be a bullshitter, rumour monger or wind up merchant. If not i will have to consider my position.

NAME A NEW MANAGER:
Hartley turned us down after a conversation with mr x about budget and interference from above and not being able to do it his way.
Wild after being offered a better salary and longer contract at Barrow.
Grayson on his way to India ?
When will the powers that be get their fingers out and get the new man in and loose Nelson.
So we can start to sign the new players we need and have been promised. It is no use crying over reduced crowds next season if you do not dangle the carrot now.

David Artell

You've only been on the board for five minutes and you've sold Featherstone and appointed Artell as manager.
First of all welcome to the board.
I and I suppose others would like to know if your sources are genuine or have we another bullshitter, rumour monger or wind up merchant in our midst.
Please don't take offense because none is intended.

No sources for this one. Just rumour mill.

On another note, Billy Paynter just left Port Vale.

Thomson now in as the Bookies fave for the job - could we maybe see a Thomson - Paynter partnership ?

although im hearing hes joining the Swindon backroom staff.... But too add more spice to the rumour pot... Grayson was manager of Leeds whilst Paynter fired them up the league... just a thought...

also an interesting Tweet talked about on the other board... Spikes brother rambled some rubbish over the social media platform Twitter recently about how Woodman is either taking a job as the new Pools manger because Southgate had a convo with Mr Bevington or that hes about to Join the England Camp for the World cup so no chance of us getting him - read into the cryptic tweet how you would like... ill dig it out once i can get back onto the other board.
