I know Cromer, Norfolk has been mentioned recently and there is an interesting live cam set up on the top of Cromer Church featuring a pair of Peregrine Falcons with their 2 chicks.

Go to CROMER PEREGRINE PROJECT - Enjoy

We should get a pair on top of the Grand Hotel to "dine" on the pigeons.

Ward Jackson Parks got 6 new residents.
6 lovely green Canadian Gooselings about 4 days old.
And the Swans Eggs on the Island are due to hatch anytime now.
Happy Days for Nature Lovers.
Hope they all survive and have a good life.

got me remembering about my first rottweiler. he hated all birds and other animals especially partridges that flew low just out of his reach. one day he came across a nest of them with chicks. he just sniffed em, wagged his stump and run back to me. we can learn a bit from animals how they react to the young and the old unlike plenty of the scum of the human race do. murder a kid or an old person then hanging in the square is too good for em.

We’ve got the resident wood pigeons back, or Botox pigeons as I prefer to call them, with their hoot hooting all day long.

Yesterday evening in Hardwick Park I was only a couple of feet from a grey heron standing in shallow water next to some reeds. Something was chirruping away in the reeds, which was what caught my attention because it wasn't a bird call I'm familiar with. The heron showed no inclination to fly off, so I left it (them?) to it - maybe a nesting site?

Two peregrine falcons were introduced onto York Minster in 2014 (I think) and have lived on one of the towers since, successfully breeding. They nested on the north west tower last year.
They frequently drop mangled half chewed bits of dead pigeon onto visitors; a lady on her way through the north east entrance went mad at one of the minster guides as if it was her fault.

Bluestreak . Did you go up the tower? Well worth the extra few quid over the original pretty expensive fee.
You climb a spiral staircase within the walls along a part of the roof then up more stairs to the very top of the central tower. Great views of the architecture and a brilliant view from the top (including the peregrines).

I recall seeing a plump twitcher down near the pilot pier, getting his gear from the boot and as is common, there were a few about. He emerged with a camera with a telephoto lens the size of a small artillery piece and clad himself with difficulty in autumn leaf shades camouflage from head to toe…. then walked down onto the pilot dressed like a forest in autumn and tried to merge into a cold grey concrete structure. Genius….. not

Yes Snowy and Mr Acc charging to go into a place of worship is an absolute disgrace.
Its one thing that is fanning my anti C of E, monarchy and establishment feelings and i am sure a few other.
I was a bit apathetic before but the greed and hypocrisy of this has really got my piss boiling.

All three of those have been hand in glove for years and really a dislike of one more or less ends op as one for the lot.
