Time to make a decision on the manager role - give Sweens it for the rest of the season and give him a chance to bring someone experienced in

Pools' stock is very high at the moment. Not often do clubs look for a manager when they are doing really well. Managers usually go cos their team is doing shit.
There must be some good interest in the job. No rush as Sweens is doing a great job.

If Clint walks it saves us paying him off and the new manager can bring in who he wants.

Exactly. If sweeney does not want the job just advertise it in the old trusted way as with pools being on a high you might get a surprise who is interested in it. no need now for some dead leg to be appointed who has had more sackings than some non league players have clubs.

Clint Hill might be a good shout for the job, if he wants a Manager role, Sweens seems to think highly of the bloke. He knows the team now and the way we play too.

Obviously in ‘limbo land’ but unless he has another job to go to why leave. At least he’s getting a wage until it’s sorted out but to just walk out doesn’t make sense.

It’s a funny one this, Clint ‘Eastwood’ came shortly before Teflon Dave rode out of town.
Was he aware Dave was leaving for El Dorado County at the time?
I suppose time will tell.

Seems obvious Hill will go to Stockport. He is Challinor's mate and was appointed at Pools to be his assistant. He'll go and do the same job at Stockport. No big deal really and not unexpected. Just a bit worried about Ferguson and Sterry.

After Mark Kitchings performance last night then Ferguson isnt safe. I can only presume an offer is imminent. Southam Hales had an absolute blinder and still is L1 quality at least. I dont think we will be seeing Sterry leave for SC unless MSH is on someones radar in the league come Jan.

Clint wont be missed... thanks for turning up

If I was Raj/Management I'd make a cheeky bid in January for Southam-Hales and Quigley just to annoy SC if nothing else.

Clint Hill’s departure..... a few film titles come to mind......

The Great Escape.
Brief Encounter.
The Man who Never Was.
Carry on ‘Coaching’.
Great Expectations.

I am wondering if the Poolie Boys will sing a new song? It might go like this.....

"We hate Stockport and we hate Stockport. We hate Stockport and we hate Stockport.

We hate Stockport and we hate Stockport. We are the Stockport haters."

I recall singing it about Darlo back in the day. Yes a very long time ago.

There is no guarentee that we,ll play stockport either unless the wheels of the poolie bus stop going round and round. Any pools players leaving us for them must be only financial as a 3 year contract could see em finish it still as a non league player. Not good on your CV is it. Everything at the moment seems to be going challinors way but some there will be getting their knife sharpener out already when he dares lose a game. Its very rare managers have success with more than a couple of clubs and eventually DC will come a cropper especially with a club whose fans demand instant success. Poolies were happy with last years promotion but if it wasn,t to be at bristol they would not be visiting their GP with mental health issues as they would be. Been there loads of times with my lad and they and there fans are a difficult club to like.

Don't know what occurred there, but what I intended to put was - doubt any self respecting Pools fan would give them the satisfaction.

but it isn,t really challinor that won the game it was the players and if they had been thrashed it would still have been the players. there are better reasons to dislike them and others like offering kitching more money to join em like mansfield with oates. add both of those teams obnoxious fans to the arguement and forget the manager who worked hard when he was employed by pools and brought success.

I suspect the problem with Challinor wasn’t what he did when he was here, but the manner of his departure, it just looked so furtive.
As far as I’m concerned he’s history and I don’t blame Stockport or their fans, but I’d get a warm glow if just for this one season they finish third...after that they can do what they like.

If they finish third they will be in the play offs and with Challinor's play offs experience and the undoubted quality of their squad they would have a pretty good chance of promotion.
