It's going to be revolving doors till Dave Challinor feels he's got 16-17 players he can rely on to do the business in League 2.

Inevitable really, given the ridiculously short turn around from winning the play offs to starting this season. Plus, Holohan won't be the first of last season's promotion winners to need a long lay off. The likes of Ferguson and Featherstone have been playing week in, week out for the last 13 months (start of the 2020 pre-season) apart from a 3 week break after we beat Torquay.

DC has already mentioned that lids needs a rest as he is carrying an injury. need to earmark some away game shortly giving him and others a game off and just go out with damage limitations. probebly come home with 3 lucky points then.

I was surprised to see Lawlor go out on loan tbh - he has experience and didnt do too much wrong in the game he had in the Cup. Hendrie probably pips him as the next available defender should a CB get Injured but i feel DC has his confidence in Ogle and Timi for his non starters on the bench for each game.
Crawford needs to go out purely so that he doesnt get anywhere near the match day squad as that boy is woeful.
Grey could probably do with a nice 6 months playing mens football but i fear hes too fragile just now.

The Mail mentioned we still had Trialists playing in the behind closed doors game against Durham mens team the other day. Wonder if DC is looking at the midfield now also. Another area for strengthening for me. Mols cant do that number 10 role (ironically his bloody shirt number too). Daly hasnt really cut the mustard either and cant see him keeping a fit Holohan out the team, but its apparent from the Oldham game that the center of the park lacks something when Holohan/Shelts doesnt play and Feaths has a bad game. Burey was our get out of jail card and another one of him would be very much appreciated just now.

Liddle out for few games by the sounds of things - Im only presuming you are about to see alot more of the lad (unless Timi gets in)

Interesting one as well - The latest Instalment of Video Game FIFA 22 potentially has Hendrie as Hartepools best player. His stats from last seasons addition when at Grimsby currently has him better than all the other pools players' stats. I know its only a game but they stat players usually pretty well so bodes for an interesting one when currently the lad doesnt even make the match day squad (not listed as injured either).

Hendrie appeared 90 times for Grimsby in two seasons and turned down a reduced contract offer when they were relegated to the NL, so on the face of it it's surprising he's not had a look in for Pools yet. No doubt it has something to do with DC taking a lot more interest in what happens on the training pitch than game algorithms.

Still, Timi Odusina hasn't looked too clever so far in the chances he's been given in League 2 so I guess we might get a look at Hendrie tomorrow.

Interesting how good Timi was at the end of last season. He had a cracking run in to the final and the final.
Good back line they were last season.

Gary Liddle was outstanding last week at Oldham as he invariably is every game. He will be a big miss but nothing is permanent, someone else will need to pick up the baton, it’s an opportunity for someone.

Timi looked good against a little less tactile opponents. Not taking anything from Stockport or Torquay although both shitteeee. Hes found his level unfortunately, plus i think he stepped his game up becuase of the circumstances. I wouldnt be saddened if he went out on loan to a half decent NL side. Lidds was going to reach his use by date eventually and its upto DC or the others to fill his boots. Likelihood is we see a very good CB come in with the EFL money come Jan

timi can look good most of the time. its the unforced errors that he makes that will hold him back in the position he plays. in fact he looks like a midfielder who has dropped into defence as an emergency and would love to see him in a defensive midfield role in one of those trophy games coming up. nothing much to lose really.

Agree 100%; think I even mentioned it might be worth giving him a go in midfield last season. Anywhere he's got a couple of bodies behind him to mitigate his mistakes!

Can we send him to a Striker summer camp and relearn his trade as a formidable front man
